Met one awesome girl on Oasis but in the end it didn't work out
The major success however was on RSVP
Took a major gamble when a profile without a picture showed some interest but waited for me to fork out the cash
Luckily for me she turned out to be real, cute (when i finally got a pic) and eventually the love of my life
Been together 18 months now, lived together for a year and now I just need to save for a ring

Tinder is useless. Its mostly spam and people that are already in relationships just seeing what matches they can get. The genuine singles on there are only looking for a quick hook up and have probably been through the other half of the people on the app.

I have about 4 friends in LTRs from Tinder.

Have been on Tinder for 6 months and have had quite a few matches but no one ever responds. I usually ask them how their day was and what they do for work. Am I too forward? Feels like you have to have come cheesy pick up line to use to get any attention and I'm not that kind of guy who's great at picking up girls. Have deleted the app now, will probably come back to it when I feel lonely haha

Been using Tinder for a while but I'm very selective with who I meet up with. I've met up with a few girls and have no horror stories to tell as all the girls have been normal. It's still a viable option. Actually seeing a girl atm who I met from Tinder, not looking for anything serious as I'm only here temporarily but we're enjoying each other's company.

Don't need just a cheesy line, just something original. Problem with Tinder is girls get thousands of likes, and unless you're very good looking then some times it's just not worth their while to respond to everyone who is saying "Hi", "Hey" or "How was your day?" because they get countless of those, let alone messaging guys first.

Even if you were to approach a girl in real life, you wouldn't just ask them what they do for work or how their day was. I usually read their profile and look at their pics and say something off those. If they don't have anything in their profile then I'll make something up, even throw a cheesy opener/pick-up line if I'm that desperate , but even cheesy pick up lines are better than the "Hey".

Tinder is awesome when I was living in cairns. Waiting for the plain at the end of swing to fly back to cairns, it lined up my social life for the week. On a few occasions even managed to hop straight in the cab and head around to the girls house after arriving back in cairns

Took a gamble on chatting to a bird with no picture on her profile, she seemed nice to chat to so we kept chatting, ended up a yoga teacher & a stunner, she had a kid which was a bit of a hand brake on things.
We dated for around 5 months, took time off as an opportunity had come up for a job in Canada something that I'd been trying for a while to do. She ended up moving on & marrying some other bloke

So I married a girl I met online. 4 years later we're happier than ever... I think being "strangers" online to begin with actually made it easier to communicate a lot of things. Turns out we were into heaps of the same stuff and share a similar outlook on life.

We're just like any other normal couple and I actually forget that we met online. It's weird.

Over the duration, I've had lots of dates and relationships, both from meeting the old fashioned way and from online dating....a mixture of both. And a mix of good and bad from each type. Many people have had some fantastic successes from online dating (I know some of them personally), but from an overall perspective (at least for hetero guys), I'd have a read of these articles below. Barely the tip of the iceberg....
