Glass half empty thinking and I hope I am wrong but if Dion or JOM or both have made it clear that they are moving on then the club would have money to over pay to get some contracts signed off and get some good news stories in the media. It's a stretch I know but
1. Whispers have been around about Saad and Lemmons wanting to go, a godfather deal would turn that around
2. The club is desperate for positive news
3. JOM makes it clear he is out and all of a sudden we have some serious money to through around and we know free agents look at us like we have Leprosey so let's lock in a couple of fringe players

Hmm, interesting. Not sure how to feel about this. He attacks the ball hard and seems to defend well, but his kicking is atrocious. He doesn't actually cause that many clangers by sheer force of pure luck, but his kicking technique is horrid. I'm glad it's not a three-year deal, but I'm still wary.

That's great news but at the same time I think it all but confirms Prestia and O'Meara have told the club that their out at the end of the season
If they haven't made their mind up then they haven't made their mind up. I think he was more refer to a few more are about to be announced If either of those two re-sign i don't think it would be until near the end of the season.

I'm not convinced Prestia will leave. He could've asked for a trade to Melbourne last year, when they had currency, and lock himself into a 3 year deal. By playing this year, he risks an injury and then being out of contract. I honestly believe he wants us to be successful and to be part of it.

yeah I tend to agree as well. Why would he accept vice captaincy? O'meara is probably the big unknown, doesn't really give too much away to media in my opinion. Naturally I want both to stay, but you can't help think the worst with the negativity from media, plus the Victorians think we're a feeder club.
Wonder how many times Jaegs has to say he just wants to get back out there playing b4 looking ahead to anything else.
Give him a break, he's all class and deserves the opportunity to complete 1 goal at a time.
