Steven played well despite the tag. he shook it off and ended up with 25 and the winning goal

Acres was great

Minch with 3 goals and 13 disposals played his role very well.

Ross BOG

Dunstan played a great game.

Gresham - did some amazing things

Newnes and Mav very solid!!

Joey and Roo - normal service for them - played really well

Start with the negatives -

Composure. Dunstan, Gresh, Ross and Membrey all missed really basic shots. Put it down to nervous youth.

Backline footskills. Gilbert needs to play up the ground or not at all. I love him bombing it out of the middle almost as much as I hate him trying to hit up targets from the defensive 50.

Now the good stuff -

Seb ****ing Ross. If Steven wasnt playing at AA level Ross would be leading our BnF. Went head to head with the "best player" in the AFL and beat him outright. His body work at stoppages was really smart.

Jack Steven - AA. 3rd BnF. Lock em both in. So glad we didnt let him walk a couple years ago when there wwere whispers of wanting a compo pick.

Riewoldt and Joey - Class as always.

But the biggest thing for me is the attitude and style of the team. There is so much X Factor and swag in this team. Its a totally different mind set from the old Lyon days. This is a group that will get in your face, talk plenty and back it up.

Chuck in a couple of giants in Goddard and Carlisle as well as Paddy McCartin getting the tank up to run out full games and we will be putting some top teams on notice for September next year.

Joel Selwood's salty tears directed at the umpires as they were walking off the ground....
How pathetic from a club captain

Love it though.... ;)

Might mail this one to him.

Forward line was barely functional all night - needs a lot more work to be effective against a top quality defence like Geelong's.
I'm not sure you know what you are talking about - the best and most experienced backline in the league and we chopped the up, stopped them from marking stopped them from from rebounding and pressured them to the point of panic at times.

Its not all about kicking goals - its about creating scoring opportunities.

I almost want to cry when I think of Jade Gresham.
EAD Barrett, King and all the flogs who bagged our trade for Carlisle.
Gres will be better than both Parish and Francis.

We have Jakey boy next year and once we get Freeman right we will have made off like bandits.
Who was the flog who said Ross would never make it. :$

8/12 games for Riewoldt this year with 20+ disposals and 10+ marks. Was basically guaranteed it against Collingwood as well before he went off.

6/13 games over 30 disposals for Ross. Did a great job on Danger especially in the first half keeping him to pretty much zero impact.

Gresham has kicked a goal or more in each of his past 4 games.

Bruce, McCartin, Membrey (and even Riewoldt) just 3 goals between them, very encouraging signs to kick as many goals as we did without a heavy reliance on them. Weller, Newnes, Minchington and Wright with 9 between them.

McClunk's marking was on show, seemed like he spent a LOT of time off the ground with the nose and at the start of quarters so his stats are still pretty good with 6 really good marks.

Dunstan and Acres were strong.

Steven and Joey great again.

Can't remember stats but Armitage's first half was pretty strong just based off watching the game. His attack was ferocious. As was Weller, love this guy. Tries his guts out every week and rarely wastes opportunities.

If you told me pre game that Bruce, McCartin, Membrey and Riewoldt would kick 3 goals between them I would've thought that we got flogged.

Massive effort from the small forwards Minchington, Weller and Wright to kick 7 between them. I thought Mav was nearly BOG tonight.
Paddy a bit stiff.
Kicked 1. Missed an easy one. Didnt get free in front of goal for the obvious face slap. And got that bullshit free paid against him for a push on his opponents shoulder which wouldve been another shot at goal.
Shouldve,couldve, wouldve kicked 4.
Only a matter of time till this kid tears some opposition team a new one. Paddy is looking seriously good:)

Bruce and Paddy should have had around 3-4 free kicks and shots on goal but apparently a blood nose is not high contact :drunk:

Congratulations guys on a great game of footy tonight! I've enjoyed watching your team develop over the past couple of seasons and while you have little blips downwards every so often, there is a great core of talent and tonight we saw it accompanied by some real grit and smarts.

Btw, the Adelaide Board is very happy with this result and Ross' great game tonight on Voldermort ;)

Neroli Meadows on AFL Tonight just said that Hawkins was an absolute superstar tonight with 3 goals and would've had more if not for 'controversial umpiring decisions' in the 4th quarter.

WTF???

Obviously fed some crap from the show runner - that is hilarious. He was not a star - he was barely sighted. He had 8 disposals and gave away 2 frees.....LOL

Considering Goddard, Fisher, Dempster and Lee are out you really gotta respect our ragtag defence has shown the last two weeks. Roberton, Savage and Webster not getting as much of the ball but really digging in along with Gearly and Delaney who is surprisingly standing strong. Better defensive mid and stoppage work has stopped the ball flying in as easily too.

Bloody impressed all round.

Her opinion belongs in Flushing Meadows
