Its not true. America are and always have been the biggest drug cheats in the world. all the best science comes from there, most of the big pharmaceuticals are based in america and heavily involved in sport. Pharmaceutical companies are probably the biggest fraudsters in capitalism. Seriously.

look at the american election, the corruption in that country is rife, is a matter of public knowledge.

I beg to completely and totally disagree. While there are certainly many problems in my country, to argue that we are rife with corruption as it relates to our elections is absurd.

So they ban the Russian para olympics team. Too gutless to ban the Russians from the olympics. That just stinks to the core of politics. Absolutely disgusting pathetic decision. What a spineless way of sending a message, take it out on the para athletes and let the others compete. The IOC is broken, corrupted and entirely compromised.

The IOC and the IPC are two very separate entities.

Another good day for the Aussies. Although I hear China is considering an official protest on Mack Horton. Not sure what they hope to gain. It's an official result and what Mack said in the interview wasn't anything bad. Plus it was Australian TV not really an interview for international consumption. It's highly doubtful Sun Yang or his family would even know of anything Mack said unless they went running to him with out of context quotes which I suspect has happened. He may get a warning to stop the anti drugs crusade though.

Meh. The Chinese are desperate to invade someone - anyone - that they'll just keep picking fights until someone "offends" them enough that they do it.

We've seen the IOC buckle to pressure from Russia already. We are a minnow in the eyes of the IOC which means any protest from China will carry a lot of pressure for the IOC to do something. Personally, the smart option would be for Sun Yang to be the bigger man if he feels he has been wronged and just get on with winning the rest of his events.

Having worked in the region for 15 years, I can tell you that the whole "man up" thing doesn't work in Chinese culture. If you feel you've been wronged, that burns you until you set it right.

I just hope FINA has the balls (seeing as the IOC has none) to handle it properly.

Being they haven't lodged a complaint yet and its been 24 hours I am hoping this is a sign that they won't. The worst that may happen is Mack has to publicly apologise.

I think you'd be ignorant to assume all Aussie athletes were clean. I know we like to think so, but it just ain't true. An entire AFL side engaged in this conduct.

We simply don't know who is and who isn't
This isn't determined by country of origin. Those who are caught generally have access to poor advice and/or less advanced drugs.

I think we should shelve the innuendos aimed at other athletes.
Blackcat on the HTB will tell you there are tell tale signs about which athletes are doping or not. I can't look at them now without seeing the signs. :(

Just watching the womens beach volleyball: Brazil v Russia
- if those Russian girls are on drugs then i'm all for it ..... and i'ld need drugs to keep up with them too
Or.... we could just look at them as, you know, athletes rather than some sexual being?

Turn it up Jenny... they started it!

Working from home today because car's in the shop, so got the Olympics on.

I will admit, watching confident, strong, sexy women who are singlemindedly focused on achievement get sweaty... makes me believe in the Olympic ideal, or something.

Like Cate Campbell - countless, countless hours of training, working, eating right, missing out on fun stuff we all take for granted, to culminate in less than five minutes of intense leave-nothing-in-the-tank brutality... to win gold.

Plus, she has freckles.

AOC has come out with an official statement and said he's allowed to express his views, and good on him.
