So a spud playing in the VFL is somehow a best 22 player whilst a player getting a senior game more often than not is depth? So Fremantle get their number 1 ruckman for the next 8 years and we get a depth midfielder? Sounds good..

Why would Witts feel the need to decline to be traded to a team that didn't want him in the first place?I'd say:
1) GWS didn't want Witts much at all even though Collingwood tried to get him involved in the Treloar trade. GWS already had depth ruckmen in Lobb, Downie and Dawson.
2) Collingwood dropped off Kruezer when they couldn't unload Witts in the Treloar trade because Witts was a cheaper depth option than Kruezer.
Witts is a depth ruckman at any Club.
Why would Witts feel the need to decline to be traded to a team that didn't want him in the first place?
This board is unreal lol...
This post is about as accurate as your statement last year that Leigh Matthews wasn't bluffing and Aish wouldn't be traded.I didn't say GWS(or anyone else) didn't want him at all. I said they didn't want him much. As in he wouldn't have been a large component of that deal or any other deal.
He is a depth ruckman with a depth ruckman's trade value.

I'm not sure how Cox, Cloke or White are relevant to Witts, considering they're all a part of our key forward group, and Witts is not. Witts has one player keeping him out, Grundy, who happens to be in close to AA form. It's as simple as that.lol.
Nice veer off the Witts subject.
Look, it is hardly an insult to yourself or Jarrod's sensetivities to suggest he is worth between 30 or 50 as a player who can't get in a 22 that has included Cox, White and Cloke. He is an average 1 dimensional player. No-one's gonna give up much for that. He is not No1 ruck just screaming to be let loose.
If you can get around 30 you've done well. If you get closer to 50 you might keep him again as depth.

It means that Witts is completely 1 dimensional. He couldn't even get a look in as anything else even with only those 3 players being the options and all ahead of him.
Tell me who you think will want to recruit Jarrod Witts as their No1 ruck and exchange higher than 30 for him.
And consider that you have already acknowledged by his rejection of GWS that Jarrod has already said either:
A) he doesn't want to go interstate
or
B) doesn't want to go to another Club as depth
Would walk in to the 1st ruck role at the Dogs or Tigers, interstate he'd walk in to GC and be pushing at the Lions. Also Freo if Sandilands continues to decline, which is highly likely given his age. You're right that he didn't want to move interstate last year. He was in a relationship where his girlfriend wasn't ready to move with him. Apparently now they're open to it.It means that Witts is completely 1 dimensional. which other teams are playing 2 no 1 rucks in the same team? no one but hawthorn and that finished Friday nightr.
He elected to stay last year because he wanted to prove himself at Collingwood and to some extent did that he started the year as our number one ruckman ahead of Grundy and only lost his spot because he got injured. So he clearly has what it takes to be a number one ruckIt means that Witts is completely 1 dimensional. He couldn't even get a look in as anything else even with only those 3 players being the options and all ahead of him.

Correct. Which limits Witts massively.
And the jury is well and truly out on whether is good enough to be a No1 ruck. And tell me a Club that will offer lower than about 30 for him at best.

It honestly doesn't matter if you disagree with me, because you haven't watched him play this year and seen the improvement in him. He's a far superior player to what he was 12 months ago, despite being stuck in the VFL behind Grundy.
The whole idea that he's no good because he can't play as a KPF is garbage. Grundy can't play as a forward either, if Witts was the preferred ruck then Grundy would be in the VFL, not playing as a forward in the AFL.

What clubs have now is fairly irrelevant. Picks and players are thrown around during the trade period. If a club wants a player they find a way to cough up the neccessary currency. Now you're sounding like you know Witts personally lol
On the Clubs you mentioned. Do you think Richmond, considering they haven't got a 2nd and won't have a 1st, will get a pick somehow under 30 and then give it off for Witts after getting Hampson. Who btw have him going about as good as he gets and is doing as well as what Witts probably would?
Do you think the Dogs will give up their 1st for Witts? because that's all they've got before mid/late 30's.
Then you're looking interstate again.
GC have got Nicholls, until they don't. And Currie who played VFL as well as Witts if Nicholls leaves to the Dogs.
And on it goes.
Witts has value as a depth ruckman who can come in and play when required. But that value aint pick 20 odd.
you potted him for not getting game but when I point out that no one else plays two no1 rucks you ignore it.

Lol. Nicholls and Currie are awful.
Nicholls has been legitimately bad all year, with no in-form ruckman keeping him out. Witts has been injured and kept out by a ruckman in AA form.Oh, i see. Nicholls is awful but Witts is awesome.
I think this convo is over.
Good luck.
TerryWallet aslo claims he doesn't have what it takes to be a number one ruck but when you pointed out he kept Grundy out of the side until he got injured he ignores that as wellyou potted him for not getting game but when I point out that no one else plays two no1 rucks you ignore it.

How many ruckmen are they picking in this AA team?Witts has been injured and kept out by a ruckman in AA form.
Grundy won't get AA because his form has been at that level only since the bye. Don't be surprised if he makes the squad of 40 though. How many ruckmen are they picking in this AA team?
Surely Gawn and Jacobs have him covered. And even then his place in the pecking order would be flattered by injuries to the likes of Tippett, Goldstein and Naitanui.Grundy won't get AA because his form has been at that level only since the bye. Don't be surprised if he makes the squad of 40 though.
