Oh Essendon, you never fail to surprise. Still getting your cronies at Rupert Corporation to stick their noses into it and start the negative campaigning for what should be a very simple trade. Just because we gave up 25 for Melksham in a shallow draft doesn't mean every trade henceforth must be judged on the same criteria; there are multiple variables from draft to draft that affect the value of a second round pick.

Pick 27 in this year's deep draft could easily be a 10 year midfielder; a perfectly fair exchange for a 27 year old player who's missed an entire year of his prime directly due to the abhorrent actions of your own club's former administration.

I wouldn't start using the media to kick up a fuss over a Paul Connors mananged player seeking a fresh start, especially after everything you've put him through over the last 4 years.
Pretty accurate.

So Worsfold want's an early 2nd round pick for Hibberd?

I think that's fair he's not worth a late 2nd round (pick 27)

27 will get pushed into the 30's after all the academy bidding.
doesn't really matter where it ends up. the kids pushing it back aren't available. it just makes thing look messier.

Seems we're haggling over a handful of spots.
Dees are already fairly early in. Cant see them beating Geelong this week and Port should be a good chance over GCS.
26/27 vs ? 20/21.

Think the 2nd round straight swap is fair. Otherwise Salem straight swap

Salem straight swap :drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk:
Purely based on rumours he's considering requesting joining the bombers.

What's so questionable about it? I know he was a high pick but he's a 3rd year flanker averaging about 15 touches a game and never played more than 12 games in a year. Meanwhile Melbourne are offering Hibberd 4 years at $450+ so obviously you're keen for him.

What would Salem get you in a trade? Late 1st/early 2nd round pick?

Id take either. Salem looks like a decent winger/HBF player.
We have Baguley approaching 30 (or already there) and McKenna is probably the only decent small defender we have coming through to replace him. And he is still learning the game.
But the pick could be handy.
27 & 37 = a mid 1st rd on points "ish"

27 & 37 = a mid 1st rd on points "ish"

The new academy rules allowing clubs to only have the amount of picks as open list spots will remove the "ish" trades. Dont think that trade will fly this year with the academy clubs.

ideally, GWS.
Hibberd to Dees
Dees 2016 2nd & Dons 2016 3rd to GWS
Steele & GWS's 2nd rd pick to Essendon
Steele is worth a 1st rounder, no way GWS go for that.

Of course he's going to ask for more than they think they'll get/he's worth.

I highly doubt we'd consider trading Salem to bring in a 27yo, I certainly hope we wouldn't, if/when he gets over his thyroid issues we'll see his best.

But 23 for Milkshakes was fair?
Just take the pick Dodoro and get on with it.
