Totally disagree, he doesn't have the mental nous for the midfield.
Not only is it his inability to read general play which may be corrected to some degree by playing there full time...Its his terrible handball speed and hand to foot speed and very poor vision.
I'm resigned to the fact he's not a midfielder, just doesn't have the football mental acuity for it.
Agree 100%. There's little point in wasting time giving midfield development time to Yeo. He isn't a midfielders arseh*le.
Putting aside the fact he's a horrendous field kick which can often be overlooked for an inside mid, he's an appalling decision maker. Too many times does he just try to burst through the pack and try to take on 2-3 tacklers. Predictably he doesnt actually break all those tackles and it either results in a ball up or an occasional holding the ball call. The better option is to simply dish it off with a handball. He's also quite fumbly which is a very undesirable trait.
He needs to learn to play within his limitations, or perhaps he needs to realise he has those limitations.
I, like most others was wowed and sucked in by his flashy marking when he first arrived but I've come to terms with the fact he's not the answer to our midfield.
Midfield aside, when was the last time we had a dangerous small forward type? All our current small-mids are frontrunning types that go invisible for far too long periods in games. We need ones who kick goals from nothing. When JK or JD cant take marks, the dogs easily mopped up, when a great small forward would pounce on said opportunity.
We need a Cyril type who makes opposition defenders shit themselves.
