I dunno, I think Lycett will be all good to go by round one... We don't need a knee jerk reaction to his injury.
Showing his potential but he has struggled with injury throughout his career .

Tonight just emphasized our need for genuine small forward.
I think we need to get Shai Bolton now as a priority.
I would seriously consider trading 2017 first and second rounders for picks this year
Our 2017 first rounder for 2 of GC's 2016 second rounders I would be speaking with GC about it now
nahI think it highlighted the stupidity of our love for talls! We were way too tall and sacrificed run for it. Stupid selections - if Lycett isn't fit, don't pick him! Brown is cr@p in the ruck, but Nelson would have been really handy on those Doggies mediums. Some pace and skill from Karps would have done ok too... SMH. Our selections limited the ability to adapt to the doggies. I'd say we lost the game at the selection table.

100% agree . Like wellingham yeo doesn't have the work rate or football smarts to play HFF/midI have been keeping an eye on Yeo at games the last 2 months. I do not believe Yeo is capable of playing at the top level as a mid nor as a forward. Why?
Elliott lacks the endurance to play as a midfielder and he lacks both brains and accountability to be a forward.
He has now been in an ALF system for 5 years and even when played as a half forward, he is usually one of the first players to go off for a rest. By 5 years, most midfielders have developed their endurance to an acceptable level. He has burst acceleration not speed so he is only ever going to be in for an occasional midfield rotation.
In terms of forward, he has not been playing an accountable enough game in picking up his half back and stopping the opposition run from the half back line. In addition, he fills his pants in front of goals and his conversion is deplorable. His brain cannot keep up with sudden burst of pace - he is either as dumb as dog shit or lacking game nous!
As a result, his only role in in defence. In this area, he has already shown his ability to play. We should face facts. We had hoped for a Fyfe clone in the midfield but it requires Yeo to do something he is either incapable of achieving or not prepared to put in the effort.
We must lock in:
Shue
Nic
Shep
Weller
Gov
Barrass
We will keep because of service and age - worth a lot more to us:
Hurn
Butler - very under rated by some
keep for structure:
Kennedy and Lysett.
The others can go and we should be able to upgrade on all of them. We must look for opportunities (there will only be a few each year) as they are not winners.
That's why they brought in Tunbridge. He's like McGinnity but with actual skills. Quiet first couple of games but started to build some consistency against GWS.We need to recruit some grunt/heart. Look at the effect that someone like McGinnity had when he was brought in for a few games after the bye. Shocking disposal but at least he gave it his all.
I find Yeo really frustrating because he 's physically gifted but seems to have a pea for brain when it comes to footy smarts.
We need to put him back behind the ball playing the 3rd defender. 1st task defend you opponent Mr Yeo, then create run and drive. (Reactionary football is best for him imo)
Darling consistently goes to poo in big games...I still see him as valuable trade bait.
BOND 007 - I know you said earlier that the #1 priority is to protect the spine, as Darling isn't a spine player, do you see him as someone that could be tradeable?
If so, what would you value him at? (In either a pick or equivalent player of value swap)
First lesson in life - don't make decisions when angry or disappointed.
Darling wasn't WC's worst last night and his type (size, athletic ability, marking ability) don't come around all that often
Would WC trade him - so unlikely (did I say highly)
What would he be worth - a pick inside the top 12
What is in the future for Jackson Nelson, BOND 007 - can you shed any light? I realised he is young and not the finished article but the way the match committee treated him in 2016 had me confused. He was treat like an overused sex toy in that he he was in and out more often than a lonely ladies vibrator?
We seem to give far grater latitude to some of our older players for poor performance yet fail to give him a sustained run of games. We were excellent last year - what has changed this year?
Yep plus i have $5 on themGo NM ,...... WCE pick 11 should they win .
You guys are nuts for wanting Tunbridge delisted.
He's pretty rubbish, and uncontracted. He's been in the system quite a long time and has shown very little. You guys are nuts for wanting Tunbridge delisted.

Older players are always treated differently to the youngsters - they have credits in the bank. The job of a coach is to realize when those credits are exhausted.

We need to look at going big this year and then securing a KPP next year. Depending on the way things pan out, a trade out of Lamb, Mackenzie and possibly Masten plus our 2017 first would net us plenty of picks. I would be hoping for almost 4 second rounders and a third from that. 5 picks in the top 30 this year would be very good for us. Then those players that you have named come into play.I was under the impression that Cransberg had put the recruitment team on notice in 2014 as that their performance was not up to speed and needed a drastic improvement. Midfield talent is fundamental to building a contending list and has been our Achilles heal. Yet since 2011, Sheed is the only midfielder new to the club (trading or drafting) that is considered a definite starting midfielder. We have traded our first round away in 2012 and 2015 and although Wellers is in best 22 and was brought in as a midfielder, he is now our back pocket (not sure who would want to use pick 18 on a back pocket).
This year looks like a bumper crop of midfield talent and we need to fill our boots. Great idea ROYAL EAGLE about trading our 2017 first rounder with the Suns for 2 second rounders this year. That would potentially give us pick 12, 24, 27 and 31. We could end up with 4 of Toranto, Berry, Scrimshaw, SPP, Rotham, Atley, Clarke, Drew, Bolton (more a forward), Scharenberg, etc. Let us not debate the pros and cons of each name, they are indicative of what our reload could be.
What do we lose? 2017 is seen as a strong draft year for all types so might be something special we miss out on. We would not be able to trade our 1st round pick in 2018. Good news is we get to recruit our team midfielders that will be playing senior football when JK is still our primary weapon and when NN is back. We might even look to trade off some talent (not fringe crap but starting talent) to the Suns (who also want midfielders so hoping it may be Masten but that is about all).
Are we prepared to take the plunge and trade a future 1st round pick? I hope so. We have the financial power to buy the best in off field. Do so (and break the cap if needed paying the Shineboner Tax) and get the off-field team we need to deliver.
Who's fault is that?He had a tough run with injuries to be fair.
Finally got a decent run at it with East Perth, got selected and was just starting to show what he can do and got suspended.
He's still only 23. He is exactly the type of player we need to keep and we are a far more dynamic and dangerous side with him in it.
There are plenty of players who have overcome injury and bad luck at his age and made it.
