Also, it goes without saying, if Downie is one of the ins, its almost a given that we are looking to send Kreuzer out (Dogs first?).

Gibbs, is 28 next year, & Barrett & Wallace from Trade Radio, say Adelaide shouldn't give up pick 13. Isn't Gibbs contracted for 3 yrs? Is it Adelaide making the request, or Gibbs wanting to go home? Because he is under contract, don't we have the upper hand? For us:
13 for Gibbs IS a very good trade.
24 for Lyons is NOT a good trade though.
Some Carlton scarf wearers are about to be woken up to the true worth of Bryce Gibbs by the sound of it.
Go back and read the post you've quoted and see how I've obtained my information.Finlayson was one I looked over and was surprised to see how much he's improved this year, but ruled him out because we were already angling for Corr. Not that I'm discounting your info, just that they're pretty similar players last I checked.
Not sure how I feel about #5 for those names. I mean they're collectively worth more than it, but what's to stop us from giving this and next year's second round picks? Would be stoked if we can swing it so that at least #7 comes back the other way.
This also means Tuohy is going, because we've just brought in two HBFs (albeit one can play forward).
Also, Flynn's not going to give much of a shake of it at AFL level as a centre bounce ruck, and I'm not sure the rest of his game is that impressive. NEAFL form is heavily discounted, and rightfully so.

Stig watches the watchmen. Rhetorical question answered.Dunno what that means.
Half pissed watching Watchmen.
Anyhoo, I threw out 2 names, a rude word, a verb, a comma and a full-stop.
And behold.......
Stig watches the watchmen. Rhetorical question answered.
Great movie by the way
I hope the other "4" players in this deal are not list cloggers like Jaksch, Whiley, and one or two other GWS players we've already picked up.Marchbank, Pickett, Stewart, Corr, McKenna my guess.
Came here to read some more Gibbs opinions, saw this. All that text and effort for the one liner at the end?Signed until end of next year. Bolts wanted us to go after him as our key target but SOS wants Fyfe to be our focus instead.
Essentially our TPPs is being distributed with one of these guys clearly in mind but we're not going to have enough to land both so who we target has caused a fair bit of internal debate of late.
SOS is concerned about lingering effects of his knee reconstruction which ruled him out of football in 2014. Bolts points to the fact he still achieved plenty as a bottom-aged player in 2013, when he played four games for Vic Metro and had a strong season with the Calder Cannons.
Bolts has highlighted the fact he was Adelaide's second Rising Star nominee last year, in a game in which he gathered 24 possessions in and ran at 92 per cent disposal efficiency. Depsite not having the experienced Daniel Talia by his side, Jake took 10 marks, generated seven rebound 50s and won 14 intercept possessions, more than any other player in the league.
Bolts thinks he is getting better week by week and can still be a 150-200+ game player for us. He thinks he's a real leader and competitor and just loves the way he goes about it.
Despite the impressive resume already, SOS just can't go past Nate Fyfe.
SOS has been tracking him closely since 2012 to when Fyfe still polled the second-most Brownlow Medal votes at Freo despite playing only nine games in the home and away season, the fact that two were compromised because of his shoulder also didn't go unnoticed with SOS.
Despite his injury concern last year, the two years prior were elite and Bolts can't despute Fyfe was clearly Fremantle’s best contested possession winner which was also 14th overall in the AFL .
Bolts is largely concerned about his disposal efficiency but SOS doesn't care about his disposal efficiency, citing he won the AFL Players’ Association MVP award, All Australian selection in the and a second Doig Medal in 2014.
SOS believes he can get better still which he proved in 2015 by winning the Brownlow Medal, his second AFL Players' Association MVP award and another All Australian selection in the midfield. He is arguably the best player of the modern era so its a tough call.
Anyway this argument had led to tension building and I daresay had a big part in the recent rumoured rift between the pair.
It culminated in Bolts giving a lengthy but compelling argument to the board who were close to being prepared to overule SOS, but apparently SOS walked in while Bolts was finishing up, sat down with a considered look and had the whole room silent in anticipation. After a few minutes SOS stood up, looked and everyone earnestly and declared, better Nate than Lever.
That's all I know.

Agree with all you say except for bolded point...where you are:
ABSOLUTELY WRONG.
A list manager is a portfolio manager - and should be assessed on the performance over time of the portfolio of players he (in SOS's case a male) put together. This is why mistakes ( inevitable) have to be significantly outnumbered by success. in the context of list performance against other lists.
As for Gibbs - dont worry aboput Gibbsy - his real talent is maximising whatever leverage he has - He is AA in that regard.
Any trade/draft scenario HAS to be seen as part of a strategy - which we aren't privy to in detail. Which is why thesse threads go on and on and on - pspeculation with little cost to reputation - a free ride on posting.
