Liam Picken is my fave non-Carlton player I think.
If you like Marchbank then you'll like Finlayson. In summary, if he passes the medical, yes please!!!
great pointIf only Buckley could take the next step.......

I'm disappointed; it's not working on my browser.
If Finlayson passes any kind of medical, I'd say that disqualifies him as one of our trade targets

great point
Probably better Contract ("more money") deal. Why why why would anyone want to go to Seaford!![]()

I was hoping for one of those wiggly things where the eyes follow you around the room.
So an 11 pick downgrade and two un contracted players you don't need for our second best player, who is contracted? Where do we sign!
Just think about this scenario for one minute..
give Carlton Sloane and 13 for pick 5, Graham, and whiley.
Does that sound reasonable to you?
Not really, no.
Sloane is in the top 5-10 players in the league though and Gibbs is probably around the 50 mark.
Not really a comparable scenario.
Our clubs are at different points. Adelaide will be going all out to make grand finals in the next 3 years. Carlton are probably trying to climb into the 8 in 2019-20 after a couple more years of bottom 6 / developing youth. This is the only reason why this trade MIGHT even be discussed.
Wait and see. I'm not trying to be argumentative at all. I can understand the backlash.
Carlton are in the second year of a 3 year rebuild. In 2018 Gibbs will be as important to Carlton as he would be to the Crows and he will be the same age as Eddie betts is now.Not really, no.

He's from NSW, he did board at St Pats though.Jacob Hopper.

I love Bryce but if he wants to go home and 13 is on the table we would be cray cray not to take it...
Especially if there are plans to turn it in to pick 4....
He's also a future superstar freak. GWS usually keep those. He's from NSW, he did board at St Pats though.
Nice post (although not many here would agree) Lyons is a decent (or better) player.
Really begs the question why Adelaide has lowballed Lyons with his contract offer. Pretty much follows the model we have
applied to Zac Tuohy.........club has an agenda.
Adelaide been linked to both Gibbs and Rockliff so they are hedging for cap space and/or trade bait. Simply put, this whole scenario
is driven by Adelaide and probably the Gibbs family, with genuine wishes to unite the extended families on the back of the youngster
now guiding their lives....for the disbelievers here, family is not only important, it is "everything" for some, very much transcends footy
or even career for many.
Sick of hearing borderline vilification for our club seemingly trying to make the best of the situation. Please refrain from taking the
rumoured deal as gospel, probably a Crows driven starting point. Expect our second to become a 3rd or perhaps the addition of Mitch
Grigg, as was mooted on here many weeks ago, or some other sweetener.
I expect 2 or 3 quality mids from the first 2 rounds of the draft even if we are selecting from outside the top 10. There are plenty
there, contrary to popular opinion. Lyons and Hrovat are top 22 quality, and certainly enhance our ability to hit a target in the forward
50. Sacrificing an ageing Gibbs, at his request, and the loss of say Whiley, Tutt and maybe Graham from our midfield depth will be
a net gain, which will ultimately justify the "likely" trade.
Have to believe there is a big fish mid "hooked" for next year, just have to land it.
It is about the reset people, not going to do it without some short term pain.
Not sure what the facts are behind the Gibbs story but I thought if he was simply being shopped around, he would want to stay in VictoriaHe doesnt want to go home. We are simply shopping him.
It's hard to get a bead on what is actually happening. Just lots of rumour outside the media and a few question marks by journos. Ultimately, there's enough there to acknowledge there may be something to it all, but it's not that compelling. Not sure what the facts are behind the Gibbs story but I thought if he was simply being shopped around, he would want to stay in Victoria

I honestly don't believe he'd want to come back Adelaide, he had the chance an like so many ex south Australians he prefers to stay in Melbourne. Therefore if the rumours are true I'd be leaning towards his mrs being the one initiating thisIt's hard to get a bead on what is actually happening.
