Lol, went in for minor hip surgery straight after the NEAFL grand final...therefore he's a certainty. If Finlayson passes any kind of medical, I'd say that disqualifies him as one of our trade targets

Would think that's probably bout rightSend Lyons to GC for one of their many 2nd rounders as they are looking for ready made players .
Add that pick to your 1st rounder this year and you have Gibbs .

Matthew Kennedy might be the left field one
You might be right.....having said that doubt you could find any Adelaide player who played decent against Geelong this season. Both matchesThe geelong v Adelaide game is on fox atm and watching Lyons, I would be very, very surprised if after 2 more years and 50 games up his sleeve Nick Graham couldn't at least become of equal standard.

Not even close...Send Lyons to GC for one of their many 2nd rounders as they are looking for ready made players .

There's always a choice in trade negotiations. Could've demanded 2 first rounders for Dangerfield just like Carlton could do for Gibbs.
Adelaide would've had a better chance of getting to first rounders for an out of contract Dangerfield than blues would be for an in contract Gibbs. Look at what you guys gave up for an out of contract Judd....would you give the same for an in contract gibbs?
Then, we get rid of pick #5 for a bunch of players and not even one of them is a midfielder. Even if one was, he'd be one of their fringe players. So now, we also miss out on a very strong chance of grabbing a gun mid.
Signed until end of next year. Bolts wanted us to go after him as our key target but SOS wants Fyfe to be our focus instead.
Essentially our TPPs is being distributed with one of these guys clearly in mind but we're not going to have enough to land both so who we target has caused a fair bit of internal debate of late.
SOS is concerned about lingering effects of his knee reconstruction which ruled him out of football in 2014. Bolts points to the fact he still achieved plenty as a bottom-aged player in 2013, when he played four games for Vic Metro and had a strong season with the Calder Cannons.
Bolts has highlighted the fact he was Adelaide's second Rising Star nominee last year, in a game in which he gathered 24 possessions in and ran at 92 per cent disposal efficiency. Depsite not having the experienced Daniel Talia by his side, Jake took 10 marks, generated seven rebound 50s and won 14 intercept possessions, more than any other player in the league.
Bolts thinks he is getting better week by week and can still be a 150-200+ game player for us. He thinks he's a real leader and competitor and just loves the way he goes about it.
Despite the impressive resume already, SOS just can't go past Nate Fyfe.
SOS has been tracking him closely since 2012 to when Fyfe still polled the second-most Brownlow Medal votes at Freo despite playing only nine games in the home and away season, the fact that two were compromised because of his shoulder also didn't go unnoticed with SOS.
Despite his injury concern last year, the two years prior were elite and Bolts can't despute Fyfe was clearly Fremantle’s best contested possession winner which was also 14th overall in the AFL .
Bolts is largely concerned about his disposal efficiency but SOS doesn't care about his disposal efficiency, citing he won the AFL Players’ Association MVP award, All Australian selection in the and a second Doig Medal in 2014.
SOS believes he can get better still which he proved in 2015 by winning the Brownlow Medal, his second AFL Players' Association MVP award and another All Australian selection in the midfield. He is arguably the best player of the modern era so its a tough call.
Anyway this argument had led to tension building and I daresay had a big part in the recent rumoured rift between the pair.
It culminated in Bolts giving a lengthy but compelling argument to the board who were close to being prepared to overule SOS, but apparently SOS walked in while Bolts was finishing up, sat down with a considered look and had the whole room silent in anticipation. After a few minutes SOS stood up, looked and everyone earnestly and declared, better Nate than Lever.
That's all I know.
No doubt at all, he's got all of the ability in the world and has a fantastic attitude & work rate to match. He's also a future superstar freak. GWS usually keep those.
Left field of dreams...
So, because we "think" we may get Fyfe next year, it's ok to let Gibbs go for unders? LOL!
Gibbs salary can go towards Fyfe. Plus honestly I'd take 13 for Gibbs considering his age and where we are at.
1- Pick #5 in a midfielder's draft will very likely be a gun mid.
2 - Marchbank can come to us with our 2017 2nd rounder, we don't need to waste pick #5
3 - Pickett was #4 so that's better than this year's #5? LOL. Lisfranc injury is career threatening. Not only that, but is he going to be a gun mid for us? Pickett is the type of player you add when you've established the side already. We are FAR from that.
4 - With Stewart, what about when the other forwards were injured? What about when he had his chance, what did he really show?
5 - What a surprise! Another fringe player!
I like the fact that SOS knows the kids we will get. All the rumoured players look to have to the potential to be top 15 for our list. If 2 do that, it's a win, if 3 do it's a giant win.
The only deal that doesn't bother me.
That's good. Pretty safe deal I agree.
What perspective did you think we were looking from? Pick #5 is the long term prospect, not a bunch of GWS journeymen and a guy that has been injured for the majority of the past 4 years of his life.
Journeymen is a bit extreme as most are 20-21 years old.
Gibbs is contracted, unless we can trade him for a top 10 pick or pick #13 and a very good young player, we keep him.
I move him for just 13
Out of all of the ex-GWS crew on our list so far, Plowman is the only one to have shown something. The rest, all sub-par. No wonder GWS got rid of them, I wonder why they're so happy to let another 4 go just for "one man"...
They have a unique situation where they have multiple budding B+ Players that can't get a gig, in our spot is rather 3-4 potential B+ than 1 potential A.
Send Lyons to GC for one of their many 2nd rounders as they are looking for ready made players .
Add that pick to your 1st rounder this year and you have Gibbs .
Ease up bud. I've clearly stated he's worth atleast a first rounder plus a starting 22 player. you don't offer first rounders for duds.O.K you've just convinced me how much of a spud Bryce is. I'd be embarassed to sell him to you. What were we thinking? Oh wait!
I'll let you in on a little secret. There are another 16 clubs that may have someone more suited to your requirements and price range.....might I suggest *Essendon!
As for us we will just have to keep old Bryce until he retires. I just wish someone had pointed out to me earlier that he was such a spud. What were we thinking in taking him no1 in his draft year....idiots!
Good luck in your search for the perceived last piece or two in your premiership puzzle.
We are very busy at this time of the year so please don't call us in future, we'll call you!
Sorry for any inconvenience or misunderstanding on our behalf.
C F C.
P.S Give our regards to Big Sauce and Eddie.
Sorry there are no retrospective refunds.....Oh wait!!!!!!
Too goodPost it, and he will come..
Errr, Thy's been buiding for 50,000 plus posts. Surely the punchline is imminent...Holy hell!
That's the longest (and best) build-up to a punchline I have ever seen on BF...
No source just pulled it from left field
Deals that may possibly happen in the future should have no bearing whatsoever on current trades/deals at present. It sets a dangerous precedent. Ie the Fyfe scenario.
The GWS 5 arent A graders, the Giants know that and so do we, id prefer say a Marchbank and/or a Steele plus steak knives for pick #5 rather then just Marchbank and 4 fringe players for #5.
I cant see SOS giving up our first pick for Marchbank and a few fringe players.
On the Gibbs trade #13 and Lyons doesnt really to seem benefit us, losing arguably our best player whos a mid and replacing him for a worse midfielder (albeit younger) kinda defeats the purpose and we are left worse off in the middle.
6-7 years to develop ?, he would be delisted by then if he hasn't gone past 50 gamesThe geelong v Adelaide game is on fox atm and watching Lyons, I would be very, very surprised if after 2 more years and 50 games up his sleeve Nick Graham couldn't at least become of equal standard.
