Since 2007 the correlation between minor premiers and grand final winners has been in a 3 year cycle.

2007 Geelong (mp) win grand final
2008 Hawthorn finish 2nd and win gf
2009 Geelong finish 2nd and win gf
2010 collingwood (mp) win gf
2011 Geelong finish 2nd win gf
2012 Sydney finish 3rd win gf
2013 Hawthorn (mp) win gf
2014 Hawthorn finish 2nd win gf

Therefore minor premier due this year. Or perhaps this is the year the pattern finally stops.

LT was the mentor of young Kane Turner who was was suspended for months for serious drink driving this year.

Brad Scott publically admitted to training his players to cheat after responding to a LT duck at the SCG.

Brad Scott and North were fined $80,000 for making up stories about LT and the umpires.

Brad Scott kicked the security guard in the back and was under police investigation for assault because he was furious about LT's first half in Hobart and stormed down the race.

Luke Hodge belted Swallow while getting up from tackling Thomas 'high' in the forward line that lead to the infamous 'flying the flag is crap' comments from Brad Scott.

LT's best mate was Daniel Wells and this year it was Boomer.

All of North's other small forwards can never get on the park through injury, while LT plays through default most weeks.

All the rule changes for breaking opposition players legs, head butting, ducking, diving etc are more bad luck than coincidence.
