Douglas McKay and Thompson will all be boarderline best 22 at best in 2017.
I assume you have forgotten the Crouch brothers and Atkins here too?

You mean the three 'hard nuts' that went to water against West Coast in R23 and Sydney in the semi-final?

Nah, we remember them. Especially that drop-kick Atkins.

I heard Jack Frost was going to the Lions. Now if there was a more uninspiring and unskilled footballer and full back in the comp who solely is shut down and nothing else and not even very good then they must be some player. If I was a Lions member I'd be about as inspired and excited as going in to get my nuts lopped off with a hack saw. SURELY we can get a decent pick for an O'Shea from them if he's happy to go up there.

If you read carefully, the original post that i quoted referred to the age of the Adelaide midfield. Rather then the 2 games where no one from the club played well/

The reason why Gibbs wants to leave Carlton is because Bolton actually wants Gibbs to defend, and Bryce has quite obviously chucked it in and said 'trade me to a club where my front running ways will fit right in with the rest of the squad'.

Hence why he's going to Adelaide.

They didn't learn with Menzel last year, who Carlton got rid of for 'cheap' - and they are going back to the same poisoned well again? ******* ludicrous.

In a side that is full of hard nuts, Gibbs would be fantastic as an outside player - Sydney, Bulldogs etc. But at Adelaide, where the hardest player is a 34 year old Scott Thompson? Please.

Smacks of a desperation move from a club that needs a good news story to deflect from the fact that in the softest year for a premiership since they last won the flag, and with minimal injuries, they could only finish 5th. And a campaigner of a player thinking that he is going to be the prodigal son returning to deliver the faithful to the promised land.

They can have him for their third round pick as far as I'm concerned.

lol no. Gibbs is a sound player who has turned it around in the last few years, he would be a sound get for most clubs dependent on price. the crows can afford him money wise and adds a bit to a position they need it in.... he's a good get. we're not in a position to laugh at their success and then ambition to go try find a few big guns to help take the next step, that would be a hypo-critic i would have thought. i don't want him due to pick cost but if he were a free agent i'd be all over him.

Its weird and stupid how clubs seem to have reached the point where they have to be seen giving coaches license to **** the squad over to chase one last chance to save their jobs.

100% Agree. Absolutely spot on.

Mayne at 2 million over 4 years also has me baffled

Trading for Mayne really doesn't make any sense to me, Wells is strange as well but at least he can be a match winner (too old now though).

Mayne is a very average player, kicked 18 goals in 22 games this season and is hopeless in finals.

What you are saying is it would be a two out one in sort of deal. Gibbs comes in and Thompson and Douglas go out. On that scale you are not gaining just maintaining a status quo. That is fair enough but it will cost you.

Zach Tuohy (Carl) wants to go to Geelong

So we have Geelong, Hawks, Pies and Crows getting better, and Suns, Blues, North and Freo getting worse.

#equalisation

With Gibbs in and Milera among others developing, i honeslty couldnt see more than 1 or Thompson Mckay and Douglas playing weekly.

Collingwood board
And Bucks. The modern game is fast paced. GWS WB and look how the swans finished the GF...outta legs.
If the crers get Gibbs then they and C'wood are barking up the wrong tree.
Imo the neighbours are as far away as most for a flag. The comp are latching on to Pyke's gameplan
they're unlikely to have such a dream run with injuries again, a tough draw coming their way as well.
Gibbs will help them but is not their messiah.

Meh it is trade week, so this could be a bit of BS to rile up the media folk getting them talking about Harlett so Davies can spend his time working on another deal. As old Sun Tzu taught us, all warfare is based on deception

Davies doesn't strike me as an "art of war" type of guy.

The Adelaide media outlets will be falling over themselves now. 5aa will have the entire show dedicated to how Gibbs is there missing piece. Then christ MMM should be great as well. Imagine the loonies coming in with there trade ideas.
One on trade radio was talking about Henderson being part of the trade.

Bloody hell, couldnt Gibbs just go to any other state, the media will cringworthy over this

Judging by his contract extensions he's a believer in the "Art of More" amirite?!

Lol

Or Game of War on the iPhone. For when those team meetings get super dull and shit.

More than happy for the Crows to pay dearly to finally get their only ever, technical, FS selection once he's in the twilight of his career.
