When he can leave for next to nothing as he will be out of contract. Great.
But the WA teams would have to finish close to bottom to be sure of getting him. It won't come to that but if a trade cant be worked out then we can still hold an ace next year.
No problems. If Freo or West Coast can't give us a first-rounder this year, then we get next years one. A fair deal will get done.

The guy has basically gone "I know I'm under contract and only played 10 games guys but I kinda don't wanna be here anymore, but I'm also cool to stay and earn the last year of my money too, no biggy."

There's no way this sort of statement would have been met with a positive or level-headed reaction from fans. Especially when he's part of a premiership team.

I'm pretty level-headed about it (the premiership obviously helps), and I imagine the majority of our fans are. There might be a majority of BF posters who feel slighted, but bottom line is he's a young man who may or may not be unsettled because of family issues and has reportedly had a bad time with his injury in recent months.

Even if he wasn't he would just be a guy who wants to move back home and has asked the question of his employer, while being willing to see out his contract - which is all he's bound to do.

I understand the teeth-gnashing when we see players who we thought would be solid or even great players for our club leaving, but we need to keep some perspective. The club will be compensated to a degree they feel is fair, or they'll keep him and get another year's footy from him while either convincing him to stay or lining up a replacement. People absolutely need to get used to move player movement because it's only going to increase, and if you demand artificial loyalty from people who are just employees when all's said and done, you're just asking to be disappointed.

Also, as a few posters have stated I'd be reticent to judge trade period until it's finished.

Richmond will be the laughing stock of the comp if they balls up Prestia. They finally get someone half decent to nominate them and they're ****ing it up.

Because Adams still has a heart. Dogs will pick the best team to win every game. Adams will want to do the right thing.

Adams has been open to the club since mid season, so it's not like he's sprung it on the team and been cold hearted about it.
Shame he wasn't as open when first drafted that he had no intention of staying interstate long term. I'm genuinely surprised so many of you are being so nice about it. I know about the situation with his brother but he knew about that when he put himself under to draft.

I think he reads Knightmares draft thread and commentates games.... never heard from him anything new or his own opinion.
He has all the statistics but if you actually ask him about the game, you get nothing out of him. He was one of the first to suggest Billings was going high in the draft though, I remember that.

Who else would take him in the psd knowing he has no intention of living interstate?
