Certainly not having a dig at Rick wonderful footy person Bully. When a big fish was mentioned thought it may have been a big name ex AFL or something. Goodluck to him if in fact he gets the nod
They were waiting on a AFL 300 gamer to work out what his future looked like . Word is he couldn't commit as coach but very likely to play some games whist doing some media. Horwood is confirmed. I've been quite critical of AH of late but it's looks like they are getting some good football people behind them and the future looks brighter . Some smart recruiting of Players who are committed to the cause can turn things around quickly. A couple of their departures are no doubt a blessing in disguise .

Hearing a number of Strathmore players (including some homegrowns) could be on the move, following Ash Arrowsmith to East Keilor.

Star, can you shed any light?

Sorry mate, Ive been os for a few weeks. Not sure about a 'number' of players, I haven't heard that! Certainly can't begrudge Ash giving back to his junior club and I understand a previous SFC asst coach may also bob up there but I'm not aware of any others just yet.

you are glowing in your reports on Rick, what do you know of his efforts at sunbury over last years? Has had the cattle but 2012 only win. Club turned upside down with mass exodus of players due to coach? issues 2016, infighting still with players/coach.
Wont help AH, backward step, very overrated

Watch it all what your saying is correct and factual. Rick is a nice fella and been around for a long time and I applaud him for his on going support of local footy. What i was saying Bully is precisely what watch it all has stated not sure it is the right move for AH. Drew is a big fish but he will surely lean towards a career in the media as he is very good on TV. Lets leave it to time to settle this conversation

To be honest I really don't know much about Horwood at all except he's been around a while but I do know Avondale are starting to get some football acumen into key positions to support the coach . This cannot be said in the immediate past. Whether the coach is the right choice Will be decided down the track . All I am saying and I've been highly critical of their horrendous past decisions is that they are building a stronger base to build. I'll also add that Sunbury would be the last club I'd want to get involved with and this guy lasted 6 years there. He must be a genius.

Lynchy. Correct

Cubby - Melton. Blackers - Bernard's. False

Walkout. False
I actually sympathise with you here Puff. As a stalwart and long standing volunteer of your footy club you must at times think what the hell! And I refer directly to the administration team of your club. Think back to when club champions such as Woods, Harrison, Casey who were on basically no money up and left due to the administrators showing them absolutely no respect. When that walkout happened it took 10 years for your club to recover. Now the same administration have clearly spent way overs in an attempt to achieve the ultimate glory which you achieved and congrats. But that effort has had a profound effect on your club. I am more than happy to stand corrected but when these so called experts, life members, so called highly articulated business people put YOUR club in such a state then surely questions must be asked. To ask the 2016 players to wait until after the 2017 junior registration day to get payments well as a junior parent surely you would ask "What are we spending our money on"? I hope your club can pay the players. The departing players are trying very hard to lure more players from Abers to their new clubs and with the promise of actually being paid they are talking. Interesting times ahead!

You're not close enough to it and you certainly don't know the facts.

Your ongoing obsession with us is boring. Time to move on I reckon.

You have enough to worry about in your backyard but I guess that's what negative people do - shift their attention to others instead of correcting their own issues.

My backyard is looking okay with this warm spring weather the grass is green and lush Lol
Your concern should be a business unable to pay employees, suppliers, investors etc would be deemed as trading insolvent but not a sports club... enough from me got to mow the back lawn

It seems awfully quiet on here with any serious footy talk! Not much news floating around in terms of recruits other than Strathmore with their big couple.

Avondale look in some trouble. they've got more going out than coming in at this stage. Not sure the new coach can attract many, let alone keep what they have. The decision to sack Ghazi 18 months ago is now looking a terrible one as they are going backwards at a rate of knots

Marby, West Coburg, Douttas & Keilor extremely quiet with ins and outs

Paco have lost a couple - no news on any recruits as yet other than Hardingham. Will be interesting to see if they are able to replace the outs and add a few to have a decent crack at a flag

Abers will obviously lose a few - not a bad thing for them, they have enough quality coming through their 18's to keep them competitive

Grenvale - again very quiet, a few players have moved on, and unit la coach is announced it makes it bloody hard to keep existing players let alone recruit. Dont expect them to drop off to significantly though, although they no longer have the luxury of having a great group of 18's coming through as per previous seasons

Herald Sun leader local footy just reporting that ex AFL player Cameron Wood joined Avondale for 2017 season

It's a great pick up no doubt & well done to them!

They have however lost Byrne, Stretton & Davies. Unsure if O'Dwyer and Smith have re-committed. Hopefully for them this gives the momentum they need to attract a few
