Anybody get down to training today?
Yep. Missed most of the skills stuff, but watched a 17 on 17 match sim game.
Very, very good news on the injury front.
Neale is back in the main group doing some leading and skills work but didn't participate in contact work or the match sim game. Balaz is back in full training. So is Dawson and Balic. The rehab group consists of two players. Grey and Bennell. I didn't see Alex Pearce, but he may have come out after I left. Clarke and Ueber the only other two in rehab not sighted. Neale pumped out the laps and Balaz looked motivated and quick. Harley Balic needs to improve his fitness. Fyfe and Mundy were matched up on one another in match sims. Both are super competitive. Good to watch. Taylor Duman was also briefly matched up on Fyfe in match sims. He gave some cheek and ran off Fyfe with speed. Fyfe was visibly annoyed, but good to see Duman seemingly gaining confidence. Duman's kicking was also first class the entire time I was watching. Both Danyle Pearce and Weller copped loud sprays from RTB for not picking the right options in the match sims. Logue continues to look like a man child and break tackles, but was out marked by Tabs consistently in a one on one marking drills. Fyfe made Collins look out of his depth in a similar one on one marking contest. For what it is worth Fyfe always seems to be paired with a key defender when they do marking drills. The tall defender that does the best job defending against Fyfe in terms of holding his ground is Hamling by a country mile.

Thanks for watching my buddy (Duman) Sherrif. I am still surprised he lasted to the Rookie draft last year. Loving that we are already doing things like matching him up on Fyfe. Once he adds some body weight and learns to use it he could be a speedier version of Mundy perhaps?

What do you see as a reasonable progression curve for him. Not necessarily to Brownlow speech. Just to debut.

Fyfe hasn't played on Dawson yet from what I have seen.

If fit I reckon AP is best 22 but it means either Zac D or Collins get a crack. As long as it is only six weeks then he'll probably come back through the WAFL and force his way in about a third the way through the season.

Right about when MJ will break down and Dawson will be suspended - impeccable timing :p

Why couldn't D.Pearce or Suban break their leg. Why A.Pearce? Whyyyyy.

The concern is that it happened in a running drill. How's his leg going to cope with body contact? And was he pushed too far too soon?
It may be that his running load was too much for him. I get stress fractures when I don't take it easy after coming back from a break in running. He's put on a lot bulk in a short period of time so perhaps its placing duress on his legs. Who really knows, though. Six weeks isn't so bad.

Don't find it funny talking about who could bread their leg.
Broken legs can end careers if it goes wrong.
When I got to the ground on Friday there were about 30 players at the clubhouse end and Weber was tuning them about the running drill they were about to start.
I don't remember Moose being amongst them.

Logue might yet debut early.

Alex Pearce broke his leg at training last week.
