"Sabot" is French for boot. The word "sabotage" stems from the industrial revolution when French factory workers would kick the machines that were taking their jobs. Apparently.
I thought they threw them into the looms to jam up the works

Heard on the radio yesterday that Unchained Melody was originally written for a movie about a bloke doing a stretch inside, pining for his missus. Listening to the lyrics in this context has them take on a deeper and sadder meaning.

However, He Almost Looks Like You remains the best prison-themed love song.

On Monday it was ten years since the first iPhone was unveiled. Talk about a game changer, imagine a world without smart phones

Was overseas last month for first time in fifteen years, can't remember how I managed it without a smartphone. Booking flights and accommodation, maps, translate etc. Guess we all just used to speak to people or look at pieces of paper to get these tasks done.

Is that really true though? 'Cause it seems so much like an urban legend. More than happy to have it proved one way or they other.
100% true.

Coca-Cola was named after its two medicinal ingredients: coca leaves and kola nuts. It was marketed as a "pick me up" magic drink. One glass of Coke contained about 9mg of cocaine. (We're talking about production from the 1880s to the early 1900s.)

Cocaine was freely available and legal in America up until 1914 when it became prescription-only for a time before it became outlawed as a narcotic.

The urban legend emanates from the 1960s when it was purported that you could high from combining Coke and aspirin. I'm not sure whether that was true.
