Nothing wrong with the Snowy plan. Can be used to store surplus renewable energy produced during daylight hours. So we're are going pump water using fossil fuels to produce green electricity.... FFS.
No wonder he wants more gas.

Surplus solar energy made during the day has to be stored somewhere. What would your solution be?Depends what's used to pump the water.
We burn more gas. What happens in drought?
.....you have gas companies slugging Australians record prices while charging their Asian customers record low prices.......It's a neat trick, really. Take a country with enough gas to supply itself "indefinitely", send the vast majority of it overseas, refuse to sell locally at a fair price, create a domestic shortage, then demand access to some of our most environmentally sensitive resources as though it's an emergency measure.
And if you're going to pull a trick like that, this is the government to pull it on.

Malcolm's been paid by vested interests to help to con his fellow Australians. Again
Nothing wrong with the Snowy plan. Can be used to store surplus renewable energy produced during daylight hours.
It is a ridiculous plan. A massive waste of money for limited increases in generation. Brought to us by the Committee for Camels.
Are there any real opportunities in Oz for new hydro plants?
The energy companies were storing gas in silos and all kinds of s**t waiting for the LNG plant in Queensland to open up for exports while prices here went up.Gina buys a massive parcels of land.
Then we have a gas crisis.
And we need fracking....
Like clock work
Nonsense.Franklin River? Thomson River? Mitchell River?
We would rather pensioners die from heat/cold than look at sensible replacements for coal power and that's not even looking at drinking water options instead of desal plants.
There are a number of opportunities, but greenies would ensure all failed.
Nonsense.
Most people who want reduce emissions havent the slightest idea how the generation, distribution or electric market system works. So we're are going pump water using fossil fuels to produce green electricity.... FFS.
No wonder he wants more gas.

Absolute truth labor fd up big timeNonsense.
Absolutely correctFranklin River? Thomson River? Mitchell River?

Snowy 2.0 is to be for energy trading, just like Snowy 1.0. Whether the solution is more coal or more renewables, the system management issues of both require storage and artificial grid inertia, and the hydro solution is the cheapest to deliver both.what are your thoughts on this?

You have no idea what you are talking about. The Snowy upgrade is anything but cheap. It is an enormous amount of money for a moderate increase of peak load energy, but requires a big chunk of base load energy to power it.
It is almost exactly what you would consider insane.
I can only imagine it is a work scheme to prop up the NSW economy being ruined by a Liberal government which has NFI what it is doing. Because it is not going to help much at all with our energy availability.
You have no idea what you are talking about.
