Daniher has grown since 2015 into a quality tall.
More of your Riewoldt type where he is a good, but inconsistent shot of goal, but his field kicking and work rate are immense.
Agree Wines is ahead though. Would go #1 if the draft was held again.
He's dangerous, no doubt, but he's not consistently in the top handful of players each game like the other two are.

Dig that you like Muse though so I'll let it slide!

cheers!

i think he's close to Grundy for output. And I'm a big fan of Grundy (was hoping we wouldn't have to use 10 on Daniher and we'd both in 2012).
He's more a player you watch live, than TV. His work off the ball is reminding me more and more of a roaming CHF like Riewoldt every week.

Plenty of people on here obviously don't watch Macrae close enough.

Youngest player ever to have 40+ touches and shits on Viney & Whitfield in terms of work rate.

Would be close to the most productive player in the draft.

Yeap Macrae is one of the most prolific outside mid/winger in the comp right now. Very, very good disposals and is shaping up as a more durable and perhaps better Daniel Wells.

Can't remember where I had him but should be top 5.

On output he is in front of everyone else from 2012.

His performance through the final series was elite.

Everyone has him in their top 5, so I don't think he is being under rated
Macrae is not underrated but he's definitely misunderstood. Apart from Rory Sloane, there is no better inside/outside two-way running midfielder in the entire competition IMO. He is so much more than the outside accumulator we initially drafted - he wins his own ball, he gut-runs both ways to provide both an attacking link and to help out the defensive unit, he is a tackling machine and he hurts the opposition by making great decisions with ball in hand (and when you're getting it 30-40 times a game that's a lot of hurt). He only now needs to hit the scoreboard more and he will be the complete modern midfielder. He is an absolute gem.

In the entire competition. He wouldn't be the best at his club.

Disagree. Wines is a great player but isn't a generational type. For instance, we totally ****ed up by looking him over for Toumpas but made amends just two years later with Oliver who is a similar type to Wines. Clubs would go for Grundy, Daniher and Stringer first because of the positions they play.

That's a fair point, though I'd argue gun clearance players aren't that easy to pick. We barely have any at the moment

But how important are Ruckman?

Nankervis is killing it for Richmond and he can't even win a hit out.

No they're not. It's entirely dependent on the game.

Naitanui is far better than McEvoy, but that didn't get Eagles over the line against the Hawks. Sandilands is far better than Max Bailey, but Freo lost against the Hawks. Steven King is far better than Mark Blake, and did Saints win against Geelong?

Plus Jolly was in the 2011 team when Collingwood lost the flag.

So then why do teams even Bother to Draft Rucks then IF they mean F**k All?

A ruckman is important, but it's not the gamechanger between a Grand Final team and a final team. We had Tom Boyd up against Mumford last year in the prelim, and we won.

They're a part of the team. Just like the key forward, gun midfielder, small lockdown defender, or running wing. But a good, or great one, won't immediately change a team. It completely depends on the other players and the team's gameplan, and how he fits into the club.

Jolly was only an upgrade from a garbage ruck to a decent one.

A midfield consisting of Bont, Macrae, Hunter, Libba, Dal, Stringer pinch hitting and soon to return Wallis should ensure our team stays in the top half of the ladder.

That's cool and all, but fail to see the relevance.
