Other Ways To Watch AFL

Foxtel is a rip, no matter which way you spin it.
Yes.
But $16.25 a week. $13.75 if you don't take HD, isn't a hardship considering you get a DVR, 2 consecutive Go feeds as well as your box feed.
And although it's a rip, Foxtel are spending a couple of hundred million dollars a year for the rights, as well as all the additional programming, and need to recoup that.
Welcome to free enterprise.

That's fine, I'll just stream it for free using my Telstra account.
OK I've read through all 9 pages of this and I'm more confused than ever. Perhaps if I describe my situation Joel, you may be able to make a suggestion? Thanks in advance.
Have iPrimus Unlimited and currently it gives download speeds of 12.06Mbps.
Have MacBook Pro, iPad2, iPad mini2 and iPhone 6S Plus.
Have a VPN that is pretty consistent (IPVanish)
Don't have a Foxtel connection and nor do I want one.
Given the above, is there a way for me to actually stream games via AFL app or other means?

For those that are interested you can download the CrownBet app and stream all AFL matches live - I'm not a betting man so haven't spent $1 using the app but have been using it to watch games no probs :)

If you have a telstra mobile, you can use software called Kodi (plus an unofficial AFL addon or it). You put your Telstra details in and you can watch in on your tv if you have compatible android box, or a laptop/pc connected to a tv.

I watch it on my iPad as I'm with Telstra.
As soon as I click to watch it, the screen inverts!!??
And no full screen option as I'm bombarded with stats!!

You could also watch it through a VPN and the Overseas subscription. If you do that you'll probably have to watch it on your computer though. But if the quality is good enough you could probably connect your computer to your TV.

Yep, it's about $30-$40 a month I think -- but worth it if you want to watch more that pies games (also, whenever you want.)

My advice: with VPN get a subscription to WatchAFL from overseas.

There will be another option next year, it's called Kayo Sports. It's sort of a Netflix of sports. Owned by Foxtel.

It's $25 per month and you will be able to stream AFL games live (along with other sports).

It's streaming only, and currently available on Chrome cast Ultra, Telstra TV, Apple TV, Android & Apple phones (and tablets). It will also be available on Android TV before the end of the year. Edit...and on pc in a browser.

To lessen the cost, split a subscription with a mate.

Can you get Kayo Sports by Itself without getting anything else from Foxtel?
