I just drink water.

I was told from a young age that you don't need alcohol to have fun. Also, polyphenol's in red wine inhibit my absorption of iron. Also, by saving kilojoules on alcohol i am free to use them on things like bread, potatoes, or brown rice.

Food for thought.
Boooooooo!

Nope

What he said. Cool climate chardonnay from the Chablis sub-region of Burgundy, usually unoaked. BTW, whatever old school Aussie winemakers meant when they used to say "white burgundy" is a complete mystery. Rarely had any resemblance to anything made in Burgundy.

Hard to go wrong with Leeuwin Estate. Over this side, Oak Ridge make a cracking Cab Sav too.

Yeah all the regional names got locked up, not just in France. Burgundy, Bordeaux, Champagne, Chianti, Rioja, Port and plenty others. Cheese and smallgoods people got in on the act too.
King valley whites the way to go . I actually produce a nice un Oaked Chardonnay . The Pinot Grigio and Sav balance mmmmmm beautiful .

Over this way, Houghton's White Burgundy, now known as 'White Classic'. Just a varietal 'reminiscent' of White Burgundy. Was (is?) a cheap, but decent drop if you like that sort of thing.

Vasse Felix (Janet Holmes a Court's winery) not bad. Amberley does a decent red (for WA). Pinot's from the Frankland region okay.

Could mountford play half back ? By all reports he is quick and the tagging roles might hold him in good stead to replace mullet ?

Don't forget us in the adelaide hills mate! Complex chardys with decent oak balance and fine acid drive

Now this is an area the Poms failed to exploit when they were in the EU, 'English' as a language, imagine if only the English could sing songs in English during Eurovision? Brexit would never have happened :D

Rumour has it that the club have organised for the three players from North who are playing on the three Rories from the Crows to have their names changed by deed poll to Rory by saturdays game. Absolute master stroke IMO and will cause utter confusion on both sides and throw the game wide open,

Size is going to matter as much as speed this week.

Hmmmmm........90% chance of rain

https://www.msn.com/en-au/weather/t...-42.88,147.33?q=hobart-tas&form=PRWLAS&iso=AU

Perhaps the gods are with us.

I would be putting spitter on the plane.

I've wondered that a few times ... if the weather is right.

Saturday 6 May
Summary
showers.png

Min 10
Max 17
Showers.
Possible rainfall: 3 to 6 mm
Chance of any rain: 80%
rain_80.gif

Hobart area
Cloudy. High (80%) chance of showers in the afternoon and evening. Winds north to northwesterly 15 to 25 km/h turning west to southwesterly 20 to 30 km/h during the afternoon.

from the BoM site.

So it looks like an afternoon cold change with rain. Ideally at 3q time after Jack's won the toss and kicked with the wind.

Might suit having Spitta in the side.

Why all the love for Mountford? I haven't seen his games, but it looked too small at AFL level to do any damage in the midfield. He only got 20 touches didn't he in the VFL? He's not exactly smashing the door down with 30+ touches.

You need to watch him play in person to see what he can do. He's quick, very hard at it, and uses it well. There's different ways you can analyse a 20 possession game. His debut was a bit underwhelming in round 1, but I think the same can be said for the other three as well. Should get another crack at it fairly soon.

Have any of you seen Swallow play in the last 18 months? I"m not convinced that rain is suddenly going to give him the ability to kick accurately over 35m or do anything to help lessen the fumbles. Don't think either player dropped should be back at this stage (unless required through injury).

Good summary, good young player, would certainly be in the mix.

It's been mostly fine down here all week, but as ^ 80% chance of rain right on Sat arvo.

If that happens i'm not sure whether that will favour us or not, to be honest.

On one hand it might reduce Crows efficiency/scoring, but on the other they I suspect have more mature bodies which is handy in a scrap.

I would be putting spitter on the plane.

They could potentially expose his skill level even more though.

I'd like to leave LT and Swallow in the 2s and back the team that got the job done last week, with a young player in for Mullett.

Regardless of rain - i dont see the point in playing Spitta. We need to regenerate our list so why not give a Mountford or Clarke a go instead. We all know Spitta will likely be gone at the end of the year so i dont think theres much point in bringing him back into the 22 after 1 week in the 2's
