Not that I've had my hopes up, but it was still very sad to hear Ross say that Harley is still on personal leave and Harley was "devastated" by his most recent calf injury and results. I think the word "devastated" tells us that Harley's calves maybe shot and sadly we need to respect that he may never play AFL again.
Freo need to at least change the injury update for Harley to be TBA instead of still showing 6-8 weeks. Take the pressure off and stop giving everybody false hope. Write off 2017 and just give time a chance to heal his calves (if at all possible).
I'm no sports scientist, but I can see from history that every time they up Harley's training, it's too much, too soon for his legs. The current and probably the normal calf rehabilitation processes just aren't working.
The focus has to change from how soon can we see Harley out there, to can we get his calves strong enough for him to play a little football in a forward pocket sometime in the next couple of years.
