Well, clearly they do or why put out a statement denouncing what went on?

God there's some dumb campaigners on this board.

This is a club with a terrible recent history in relation to the treatment of women and are actively trying to get an AFLW license.
Bit ironic that your talking about our clubs recent history with women.
Josh bootsma and Brendan Fevola spring to mind?

Although that was dumb of Carsile to like that post, he has every right to think that Murph can't take what he dishes out. The whole supplements thing put the players through a lot and they almost lost their career, when they pretty much had 4 years taken away from them.

As for Murph sledging a man down, thats as weak as it gets. If the Gilbert thing is true then **** Murphy, I'd keep sledging if he's sledging over the drugs.

So you're going to say that to every single Essendon player including Jobe etc?
So that is OK in your eyes?

So if what Carlisle said is true as well, then its OK too?

Um, yeah.

Are you really trying to pretend that you're so obtuse that you don't see the difference between judging the character of players that willing broke the PED rules and accusing a woman, not even involved in the contest, of slutting around?

Perhaps you're not pretending. You're either utterly classless or stupid. Take your pick.

No, our club acknowledged our sledging went too far.
But I haven't heard squat from your club about any apologies, and it takes two to tango.

Both are guilt of that, but only one came out and actually acknowledged it.
Perspective for you?

I also still don't believe Marc actions were correct either. If you're going to sledge back, at least do it when the guy isn't down on the ground, motionless.
It all comes out in the washup mate your club had no choice . This will do damage to your female membership and maybe even your chances of a female side in the future . Its called damage control . And you have jakey boy to thank .

"When teams were strong at a certain time they seemed to have the most sledgers and sledging seemed to go hand in hand of being successful. When they won the flags Brisbane dealt it out and so did the Kangaroos at their peak. Wayne Carey was one of the better sledgers in the competition" - Robert Harvey (2008).
You do realise you can sledge without seriously crossing the line like the Saints did on the weekend. Stevie J is apparently one of the best sledgers currently in the game and I can't recall him ever being accused of crossing the line.

That fact that St. Kilda's club captain has come out publicly and said that a line has been crossed is surely enough for a retraction from St. Kilda fans, you would think..
That fact is just depressing.

Why do people focus solely on Carlisle? Clearly more than just Jake getting stuck into Murhpy.

Isnt the whole point of sledging to verbally insult an opponent to see them lose focus and mentally disintegrate.

Does this mean that every time a player is offended by a sledge that the opposition need to come out and apologize?

Saints people are forgetting... your club came out and said they crossed a line. Your player called Murphy to chat and no doubt apologise and leave it at that.

Yet you still want to bang on about the "fun" things that should be said about women.

Must be fun being a female in your lives.

Pretty silly from Carlisle to verbally attack a players wife.
But for Murphy to give him shit all game then crack it when he cops it back to the point where he won't shake anyone's hand after the game or take a fellow captains call is a bit childish imo. I'd be disappointed if Geary acted like that.

Takes two to tango? Damn Murphy for getting a wife and providing Carlisle with a ripe target! So unfair, Murphy!

1. Yes, it takes two to tango, what do you not understand about that?
2. If you cannot acknowledge that sledging was poor from both teams then I won't bother replying.
3. If you think Murphy's actions were a good reflection, then we'll just agree to disagree.

Cool, I cbf'ed replying to keyboard warriors that cannot respond to the questions asked.
Enjoy the conversation betw

You never asked me a question :drunk::drunk:

You're utterly wrong to think that Murphy and the Saints were on the same level. Your club has already apologised, implicitly acknowledging the difference. So feel free to "agree to disagree" all you want. But you're still entirely wrong.

This is what you supporters don't get with sledging .saying shit about peoples wives ,children etc is not on .what part don't you ferals get ..ffs

Carlisle's sledge may have won us the game. It was an effective sledge. We take the 4 points. This is football. Competitive sports. Even if this is just a rumor, it given us the mental edge. Because of that mental edge Murphy mind wasn't on the game. We take the 4 points. In part we can thank Carlisle for that.

He didn't have to react like that at all, that's the point.

Now he's obviously upset that his wife has once again become a talking point, and it was his own silly stunt that put it back in the spotlight.

Maybe he shouldn't be getting in sledging matches... Might be harder now that everybody knows how to get a reaction from him.

You speak like he knocked him out. He yelled at him, that's all, no physical contact , no spitting as some of those feral saints supporters claim. Get over it.
