Really? The McDonald's, frost, Jetta and Hunt isn't too bad, wouldn't mind a couple of them at the hawks haha
Love Jetta and Hunt. Oscar is young and will come good. Tom Mac has played forward the last 3 months. Frost is an inexperienced key defender with lots of dash but gets exposed sometimes.

I think it also has to do with Weideman taking until 2019, Hogans struggles and Pedo near retirement. To have to sacrifice your chb to play forward is a bit drastic move. But that its worked at least buys us time while our forward spine develops more. Defense was a glaring weakness but i think theyve developed well and Hibberd in AA form has been a massive reason.

To get lever is to allow weideman more time in vfl so we play tmac fwd. But if Weed doesnt come on then TMAC stays fwd until and swings back at times . If Weed becomes a good forward, we use frost or omac as depth or trade. Nothing wrong with covering potential defender injuries as Garland is done.

Hunt Tmac Frost
Jetta Lever Hibberd

Mmm.

The guy would be retired if not for WC. His value was nil

Tippett deal was vetoed by the AFL
Gunston had played 2 seasons of footy
Dangerfiled was a FREE AGENT

Jesus, use your brain please.

Let's keep it simple...

Two players want to leave your club. One you can retain if you match his salary. One you can't. Which player does your club have the most negotiating power on? Join the dots.

Now that same player who you can match on also happens to be the best player in the comp.

So who will you get more for? A somewhat injury prone promising 3rd tall, or the best player in the comp who you can retain if you match his salary?

Join the dots.

And IIRC Gunston had already won the most promising young player when Adelaide traded this uncontracted player for a can of beans.

Yet Crows fans here think they'll get more for Lever than Danger, when Lever's situation and value more resembles Gunston.

Of course we will get more for Lever than danger, because hes NOT A FREE AGENT!
He is out of contract, yes, but that is a very different scenario to being an RFA.
The deal was done with Geelong for the benefit of both parties. Otherwise we would've got even less as compensation for Danger.

Gunston value was low because he nominated a club and was point blank refusing to return to Adelaide. He also obviously didnt give two shits about the club, unlike Danger who wanted to do the right thing by the club that gave him the opportunity.

I suggest you do a bit more research before you try to tell everyone else they're dreaming.
Then maybe when you 'keep it simple' you might also 'keep it accurate'

Strange post.

Crows never wanted to trade Gunston. He requested a trade to Hawthorn, and we took all we could get. He was clearly worth more.

Dangerfield was a restricted free agent. We matched, and a trade was done. However, it seems free agents, in trade, still have a lesser trade value than just being uncontracted. Danger was also 25-26 IIRC. Dangerfield netted us a mid-first rounder and steak knives (very, very average steak knives).

Lever, however, 21 years old, uncontracted, not a free agent, tearing up the competition, and oozes potential. Of course Lever is worth more than Danger was (in 2015) in a trade. If Lever decides to leave, he will get us more than Dangerfield did in a trade. Bookmark it. Gunston was also nowhere near the level that Lever is at now. Lever has played an extra season and 33 more games than Gunston did, so the Gunston/Lever comparison is a poor one.

Stringer or Libba. Pick one for straight swap.

Surely talk of a top 5 pick is off the table now, what's he had 3 hammies this year alone? I'd be a buyer for around pick 13, just too risky paying more.
3 hammies this year?
Seeing as this was tightness and not an injury, not sure why you're counting it.
Also that means the total is 1?

Ok take it a gospel :)

Melb and the dogs are the only teams his considering...

Both on same money $350 a year more that Adelaide would or could offer..

He still likes Adelaide but monies to big....to let go

What do Melb have to offer Adelaide
Pick -around 12-14
Players-Spencer,Kennedy,Neal-Bullen

What Bulldogs have to offer Adelaide
Pick-around 9-12
Players-Crameri,Roberts,Williams,Webb,Campbell

Out of all this if I was Adelaide pick 10 and Williams or pick 12 and Neal-Bullen would be the outcome you would want

Only $350 difference? Your trade examples are terrible. Crows have the cap space just don't want to go all in on Lever.

Surely if Lever ain't worth a top 5 pick due to this then $850k a season must be off the table too.
Exactly. You can't be throwing around big dollar offers to a player, then when it comes to trading, offering a sub-par pick and/or player.

If he's getting offered north of $800k, that says he's highly rated. Well then we rate him highly too, and we will expect to be fairly compensated in a trade. And fair compensation is not a mid-first rounder and a fringe player...

Clearly I was exaggerating when I said "third rounder or delist", but you did suggest his value was worth less because of some hamstring problems. He did one hamstring, and he's been carefully monitored/managed ever since. It hardly lowers his value. He's played 49 games in three seasons (with games left this season) - that's hardly a sign of an injury prone player. Quite the opposite, infact.

Resulting in personal insults usually implies a lost argument.
His argument has some validity. He's so young and now already been held out multiple times with tightness, which suggests the medical staff are quite worried about them. I'd imagine it would be related to his ACL a few years ago where they replace the tendon with a graft from the hamstring. It's definitely not an issue to just dismiss.
