Front page news this morning in regards to the infamous Moorabbin Police double murder.
Jason Roberts claiming he is innocent, Prosecutor Jeremy Rapke on the "balance of probabilities" believes him.
Is there anything to this?

Cops loading up people to get convictions? Surely not!

Hard to feel sorry for Roberts though, mocked the Cops deaths and was clearly involved in the robberies.

Never understood why they pursued Debs over the rapes and murders yet didn't slam him and Roberts with the restaurants.

Would be happy for Taxpayer dollars to continue to prosecute these mutts for the crimes they definitely did do!

It is well known in the prison system that Jason was not involved in the killings. He upheld his right to silence and was stitched up by association with Debs. The cops most likely stitched him up because he didn't co-operate with them. A soap opera gets spun to the jury against a man that remains silent and he is placed in a position of compromising his beliefs or going to prison for a long, long time. He chose to stand by his principals.

Jason is universally respected amongst the inmates and by many of the prison guards. He has no contact with Debs whatsoever. It takes a special man to exhibit this kind of strength..

Why did then miller with his last dying words say there was 2 gunman?
And he bragged about killing "d's"

Respected?
How can you explain Rod Millers dying words?
"2 of them, one on foot".
There is no other suspects.

A lot of very vague "fishing" type responses here.

There is no other suspects.

1) A dying man can say all sorts of things, dependent upon the stage of his cognitive decline.
2) "2 of them, one on foot" is not "2 of them, one of them was Jason Roberts"
3) "There is no other suspects" can be an incorrect summation if it is not based confessions.

You forgetting operation Hamada ?

What is your point?

Why did then miller with his last dying words say there was 2 gunman?

See response 2) above.

And he bragged about killing "d's"

Thousands of people per day make such comments when they have an abrasive interaction with the police. Bullshit also gets spun to juries and judges on a daily basis.

Interesting to note that you place faith in an ambiguous statement given to a jury:

Roberts, whose jury heard he had boasted of “killing Ds”

over a clandestine tape recording of a conversation between Debs and Roberts:

..........a bugged conversation between Debs and Roberts allegedly captures Debs suggesting they had never been pulled over together.

Remember people, "beyond reasonable doubt"

Roberts was stitched up because he would not co-operate and in order to fill a hole in the event.

Exercising our so called "Right to Silence" in Victoria can cost you your life behind bars.

You obviously have vested interest in this dreg of society and therefore will call black white.
At the end of the day Jason Roberts is a gutless cop killer and if there is any justice in this world he will get the s**t kicked out of him on a regular basis.

All citizens should be just as concerned with miscarraiges of justice, as they should be with justice & law and order issues.

Denounces unlawful violence, then seeks "justice" via the unlawful administration of violence, and all in the same sentence.

You should probably avoid adult conversations until you come to terms with your dissonance issues.

Don't worry about Snake_Baker.
He knows you're right, that's why he is ignoring you.
He can't cope with people disagreeing with him.
No loss.......
He hates cop's, and there is usually a reason for that, isn't there????

I understand your point snake but Jason is bloody stupid he is locked up for life now... all to protect scum like debs?
If he wasn't there but knew about it. He could have taken a deal and he would be out of jail now..

On the one hand he could do that, on the other he has to live with himself for the rest of his life, if he compromised his principles.

I suspect the cops didn't have any strong position that he was involved, but threw him in the mix anyway, because he didn't co-operate with them. A soap opera got played to the jury, and they bought it.

There is enough to at least take a second look and review.

The government is being shockingly bloody minded on this. In order to appear tough on crime they risk breaking the system down all together. Talk about cutting your nose off to spite your face.

Respected ? :drunk:
Whether he was there on the night silk Miller were shot or not, Remember he got 9 years? Or something like that, for the gutless armed robberies, which he hasn't denied involvement in.

Crap principles to begin with.

But he is potentially innocent and this case needs urgent review. Don't know about an outright stitch up but mistakes or lack of detail concerning Roberts once Debs was nailed.

Either way letting someone rot in prison so you can appear tough is the definition of soft.

Surely the purpose of a robust Legal System is to get it right.

Andrews jumps to the tune of the police commisioner. You only have to examine the body language between the pair when Ashton leads our elected so called "leader" out for a press conference. He knows it's politically smart to keep the police association on side.

Deservedly so but has served them plus some. Any major decision like this needs to be gotten correct. Given one of Victoria's most decorated Homicide Detectives at the time and others have raised doubts a urgent review is at least needed. Not sitting on hands and grandiose statements to keep the media at bay.
