Some posters in the GameDay thread in the first half were crowing about how well Blair and Langdon were going and how lots of people had egg on their face for ever doubting them.

I made one comment asking if Blair was playing on Laird.......I thought he was ok today.

I also praised Langdons first half.........but his second half was abysmal.

I was at the game and Langdon (+ all defenders) were told by Tarkyn that we had two minutes to go. He then gets a brilliant holding the ball one minute later and he decides to kick to a hot spot.........wtf?

Sorry that match was a loss to me.......still gutted.

Lucky I am on a plane to Thailand tomorrow for two weeks.........dumb footballers.

He kicked 2 goals and got 12 touches. It was an ok performance until that mistake. Small forwards don't always gather possessions consistently. He should go but you're being way to harsh in his performance.

Sorry i should say he did sweet fa as well as doing sweet fa gathering the ball.

His last quarter he came alive did a few more knock on's and what not as well as a great goal. He for a 150 game player doesn't do near enough positives to outweigh his negatives.

I'm really dirty on the result. There is no reason why we should have lost with a 50 pt lead. Then again, should I be that annoyed? After all, when my partner said "Surely you've won now" following Treloar's goal, I replied "51 isn't enough of a lead for Collingwood". Mediocre players yield mediocre results.

Don't get me wrong, we were the best side in the comp up until half time. That's the way we should attack the game every week and full credit should go to Nathan for setting that up and encouraging the boys to play that way. But when the tide turns, and you cant make an adjustment to slow the bleeding, you're a poor one dimensional tactician. You're Nathan Buckley.

Just some comments on players:

Wells - Never understood why we gave him the contract that we did. Probably never will. He was superb, but to get any sort of value for that deal, we need to see that more than occasionally.

Adams - S*** user of the ball by foot. Great game and has been great all year. Never feel comfortable with him disposing by foot around the ground.

Sidey - Thought he was having a great game. Didn't see him when it got tough.

Treloar - More meh every time I'm seeing him these days

Crisp - Plateaued for mine. Would be shattered he hit the post in the last.

Reid - Tough game, worked hard, but couldn't make an impact. He's been better up front though - It should come as no surprise that we're better with a 2 tall structure #football101

Langdon - Knew he would turn the ball over. Is it entirely his fault? Of course not. But he was always going to put the ball in an awful position.. because that's what he generally does. Can't knock his game overall.

Scharenberg - Don't drop the kid. Getting there with 24 touches. A tackle or three wouldnt go astray

Moore and Reid kicked true in the last 7 minutes and we win. Our tall timber actually work to contain the most important contest in the game we win.

We were better on the day, but could not get the all important result.

I saw us play some great footy in the last quarter, we didn't drop our heads but we're not at the level yet where we know how to win these games against good sides. We must learn to do that.

Wells more than covered for Pendles. We bat deep in the midfield; I felt Pendles was easier to cover for than say Elliot due to our riches.

Great game, shit result.

Thanks 76

Plenty of cocktails :cocktail:.......and no stress watching this Club live (I am taking the laptop with Kodi AFL live :$) for two weeks.

One thing that won't change is Bucks in 2018.

We really didn't deserve to draw today.........very proud of our boys effort.

Lets face it mate. They stole a draw. We should have won well, but didn't. Them's the breaks.
Had 6 more scoring shots & hit the post 3 times. They will be saying their hail Mary's tonight. But good on em. they hung in there & got something out of the game. They are a better team than us & we were a better team on the day.
Hit the post five times.

Hit the post five times.

Those posters killed me especially in the last.

Hey domus does Scharenberg get a pass today?

Treloar is a gun. Give me a break. Sidey battled his heart out all day. Crisp was excellent-poster was heartbreaking. You are a harsh judge. Shaz laying an effective tackle would be groundbreaking.

Another 3 quarter effort. They've been falling asleep for 30 minutes all year. Lack of concentration? Is it just a maturity thing? Usually they **** up the 1st or 2nd. Today it was the 3rd, just like the Melbourne game. Looks like the players are losing their focus during the long break. Leave them out on the field then. Don't let them in!

Want to hear about a colossal coaching **** up? Well, there's this player called Grundy, right? And he plays in the ruck. Anyway, half way through the last quarter Grundy's sitting on the bench taking a breather, and while he's doing this, Darcy Moore is having the purplest of purple patches in the ruck, doing a mighty job in Grundy's absence. So impressed is the Collingwood coaching box, that when Grundy is ready to come back on, they don't send him back to the middle of the ground where he belongs, they send him to full forward to stand next to Reid. Needless to say, it backfired royally. Moore's purple patch quickly dissipated. The Crows kicked 2 quick goals, and boy did they rush Grundy right back to the middle after that. So, here's my tip for the coaches this week: If Grundy is ready to come back on the field, send him to the middle. Not full forward. Not full back. Not the wing. Not half back. Not half forward. Not a forward pocket. Not a back pocket. The ruck. Send him into the ruck. If not, you might as well send him under the great southern stand to buy me a coffee.

Now a message to everyone who watches 'the news'. Stop it. I had to wait till 3.20 today to watch my team play because of you pricks. You don't need to watch stories about trigger happy American cops, or about the royal family, or about a bogus cure for cancer, or weight loss tips, or about molesters disguised as priests. And you don't need to watch some tramp talk about the weather for ten ****ing minutes. You want to know about the weather? Here it is. For the next few weeks it will be about the same as today. Maybe the temp will increase a little bit. Wear a jacket.

what about the coaching nouse that go the team to 50 point up.
why ignore it?
when a team kicks 13.3 ie 80% conversion it not a coaching issue.

I think Buckley's plan A for Crows worked very well, the issue came after half time when the crows changed their structures slightly and system of attack. Buckley did nothing to try arrest the momentum.

We were up by 50 points that is a lead that should be able to be defended.

Obviously helps if the players keep "working" hard and for each other which they went away from in the 3rd and part of the 4th.

Imo his biggest issue is backing in his players and his game style far too rigidly, he makes changes once the game is shot, rather then as the momentum clearly shifts waiting for his players to arrest it or backing his systems to win out and they largely haven't.

He has had no answer for teams plus 1 in our forward half (or stubbornly backs in his plus 1 at the contest) and it has hurt us in many games this season.

I think the decision on him will come down to the wire as there are also a lot of positives and up trends in our season to make a case.

More composure and accuracy at goal and across the field, would of seen us with at a minimum 5 more wins and well entrenched in the finals. WB, Rich, Melb, GWS and now Crows all games we should of won that his game style gave us a good chance of winning.

Last half fade outs has to be on the adgenda, is it the game plan requiring too much of our players and unsustainable? or is it poor fitness? Also our strength program is well behind other sides.

I thought the defenders had more confidence in him today and used him well as an outlet. No idea what stats he had.

Don't crucify him for not takling. We have many shit tacklers in our team........he definitely is one and needs to get better at that.

Is Bucks stubborn loki? 100%

I thought he coached well today.........the only move I would have made was Howe forward when the Crows got on a roll. He was average at best today and we needed to try something.

WHE going back was his move but didn't have much influence on the result.

Moore's miss in the third hurt.

He had the highest running speed of any player on the park.
Wouldn't have guessed that as always looks to be going at half pace

I cant agree that strategy cost us - 80% conversion is unheard of, and is the only way a team gets back from 50 points, as long as the opposition conersely kicks poorly. if we had converted at 80% after half time we would have won by 4 goals.
It's got little to do with setup - we should be very pleased that Bucks dismantled the Crows, with his game plan.
And as a top team they were always going to come back - but I did not expect an 80% conversion.

Perhaps I am. Treloar worked hard and hit the contest but I long to see him polish the basic aspects of the game.

On Sidey, I judge him harsher than others because I have greater expectation. Wanted to see him stand up when they were coming.

On Crisp, Plateaued isnt necissarily an indictment
