Watched the first quarter highlights again, kicked one and was involved in the other 3.
This one was my favourite, competed against 2 in a contest, tapped the ball straight to Hooksy who snagged a goal.

This is why our forwardline is so dynamic. Walla brings the ball to ground and Hooker crumbs

He was very influential when things weren't going our way. Fantasia as well

Maybe. His pass over the head of our forward in the last quarter was costly. From memory, we were down by 6 and they went down the other end and scored. They hadn't looked like going inside 50 for the whole quarter before that

Wasn't alone in the average kicking department today tho

Champion Data statistics revealed in The Drill podcast show Richmond has five players ranked elite or above average for forward-half pressure: Daniel Rioli (elite), Dan Butler (elite), Shai Bolton (above average), Castagna (above average) and full-forward Jack Riewoldt (above average).

Rioli and Castagna rank in the top five in the AFL for creating forward-half turnovers, and for points generated from those turnovers.

But they are both in the shadow of Essendon’s Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti, who is much more than a cult figure based on these stats.

McDonald-Tipungwuti has created more forward-half turnovers than any other player — three ahead of Demon Alex Neal-Bullen — but has incredibly generated 28 more points than any other player from this source. No wonder opposition players get nervous when he’s in the vicinity.

"He's nothing but a country footballer" according to a Richmond nuffie.

lols.

I have to question my latent racism because i never thought he could be this good. If he was white and had that bag of tricks in the VFL would i have been more impressed?

His rate of improvement has been incredible.

Having watched him at VFL level quite a bit, I will be honest I didn't think he would be a long term player. Had to many deficiencies and I just didn't think he would overcome them. Not only has he ironed out his weaknesses, his strengths are elite.

If Joe is the most exciting player in the AFL to watch Walla is not far behind.

In no way can he be compared to Cyril in terms of the impact he has had on the game but his stats are tracking very well and still has room to improve.

Similar sort of player in that they both can have an influence in different parts of the ground and both enjoy the defensive part of the game as much as kicking a goal.

Based on raw numbers Walla is actually more of an attacking threat and he has played a lot of games at half back.

He used to be compared with Ackermanis all the time. Curious to see that compared.
