Redpath rumour is true
Well, the minimum required output next year for him is +35 goals, a squillion contested marks and 30% ruck time.

Good luck Redders, I'm sure the same people marching Levi out the door for a pittance will be the same people who call for you to be delisted after 6 games.

Have no issue with Redpath as a Casboult replacement, depending of course what the compensation is for both
The question is why would the Bulldogs get rid of Redpath, when the only alternatives are Cloke who is an old bust and Boyd who has played 6 good games and is off battling his issues and no guarantee to be a good player.

I agree, interesting scenario

One that I have been trying to make for our side if we lose Casboult

Redpath has had at least 3 knee reconstructions, possibly 4 (putting him in Dan Menzal territory) so they are only offering a one year deal as stated by Mark Stevens last night. Redpath probably has a young family, so would be looking for some more security via a multi year deal.

I'm hoping someone is thinking of our security.

0% Chance that rumor is true. Even if we did interview him it would fly in the face of what Trigg said about only recruiting Elite Youth.
The club would look like a bunch of dicks who have fallen back into old bad habits of pulling out the checkbook fro a quick fix.
Trigg was talking about giving our first round pick, not free agency...

I hope it's spot on - can you imagine the lolz if Richmond and us effectively swap Casboult for Martin as free agents? It makes me giddy just thinking about it!
You'd think Richmond would still get band 3 back due to the net exchange.

Redpath rumour is true
Please be at the bottom of a shortlist

Kelly and Hooper futures still up in the air could go either way
That autocorrect. :D

The trade value? Pass.

Handy Cas replacement. Less coin, slightly younger. Will fill a void for a couple of years until Harry, Charlie and Ben develop.

What would it take? Late 2nd?

Is statistically worse than Cas in most categories. 1 year younger for a guy who debuted at 23 is not a selling point.

If Redpath is worth a late 2nd, which we don't have, what is Levi worth?

Now I've seen people chastise the club if we get Kelly as being a messiah move (I completely disagree, fwiw).

But if we were to go after Dusty then that would signal a messiah move.

I personally hope he re-signs with the Tigers.

I see the Hogan heading home rumors are doing the rounds again. While we're at it Goddard to Carlton.

Mark Stevens mentioned that blues are talking with Redpath whose only been offered a year by Doggies. Confirmation or has he been reading the bluemours?

Just saw on Facebook that we may be interested in redpath if Levi leaves, what's everyone's thoughts on that?

Mark Stevens is reporting on it, I saw the article on Facebook :/

Mark Stevens is reporting on it, it was an article on Facebook guess Facebook articles are all fake

Is there an echo in here!

He was a different Jones then.

I would disagree. Same player, same mindset, probably just slighlty better physically now. He needed to be put in a position to suceed.

Dusty would be a free agent though so it's not trading away our future.

Is there another angle to the Martin rumour, ie. is there another club that is looking to take him that hasnt been publicised and we are looking to help via salary dump, or capitalise via nabbing a player that is squeezed out under salary cap pressures...

Just can't fathom that we are looking at Martin for Carlton, makes absolutely no sense and i think carlton supporters have now matured from the messiah complex...

Can't stand Martin, so I'm hardly going to be objective.

However, provided we got Martin purely through free agency - not trading - it wouldn't signal the return of the messiah mentality, as it wouldn't cost us anything beyond cap space. If we got in Martin, Kelly, Hopper and/or Whitfield for some of the stuff suggested over the last week or so, that could tell us one of two things: that we're the same old Carlton, and only our language has changed, or two, that SOS doesn't rate any of the talent in this draft enough to pick them with pick 1-2.

I'm genuinely not interested in Dusty, because I think he's wildly overrated on the basis of how impressive he looks when he does things. But in isolation getting him in is not a return to the old Carlton; it's in the combination of the rest of our behavior that would signal that.
