12 wins now only need one win to have a 100% chance of making the finals.
For the swans to miss the finals they will have to lose their last two games and all three of Melbourne Western Bulldogs and West Coast eagles will have to win all of their games, so these 8 games will have to go badly for the swans. Tightrope not so tight now.
For Sydney to make the top 4, Sydney will need to win their last two games and finish with a percentage above port, then either Richmond loses one of their games against the Freo (unlikely) or the Saints (likely) or Geelong loses both games against Collingwood (unlikely) and GWS (likely). Some good games to watch next week if Sydney win against the crows.
Crucial game for the swans next week. Would be great for them to lock up a spot int he top 8 on the friday.
Agree. We've had a pretty dependable (and predictable) set of anchor-mids for a long time now.
Teams just came in with a plan for Hanners or Parker or JPK or Kizza and things ground to a halt.
But as you say Papley, Heeney, Hewett, Newman (and cameos from Jones, Lloyd, Towers, Macca and even Mills etc) have really opened up our midfield.
Some have criticised Hanners and Parker for dropping their possession numbers...but there's a reason for that. We're spreading the load.
The coaches' ability to add those rotations is an underrated impact on on our season and our turnaround. No doubt.
I would hope so, but I wouldn't put a dollar on it!Richmond should surely get it done
I've long had the view that our high pressure high octane game has placed great pressure on individual performers within a game and on the ability for them to pyschologically to mantain that high standard throughout the year. That is why occasionally against a mediocre team we would slip. Now with these higher numbers rotating through midfield it becomes more sustainable within games and over the season. Very smart strategy IMO
Our 'key' mids have been a sore and sorry bunch most finals campaigns.
Watching Kizza and Parker yesterday it's the exact opposite. They look fresh.
Chill! Let's not buy trouble... we're all stressed enough as it is!Just need JPK to be fit and no injuries
We can't cope with injuries

Didn't the AFL say it would possibly be at ANZ but definitely not the SCG?At the SCG!
They would to make a choice.Didn't the AFL say it would possibly be at ANZ but definitely not the SCG?
They would to make a choice.
1) Spend approximately 500K to get the surface to a suitable shape & standard for an AFL showpiece final in a non AFL state.
2) Play the game at Spotless & go against their very own promotion of the game in NSW & turn away 40,000 people based on the 2016 attendance in the final.
3) Play the game at the SCG, the best stadium in NSW for AFL which can hold 50,000 people, creating an atmosphere second to none.
You can just smell that it will be done to favour their baby. All about tv ratings not crowds
Unless its to stop an interstate grand final then its corporate boxes

They'll spend the money to get ANZ up to scratch.
It seems one rule for GSW home final compared to Swans final.
Swans had the home final last year against GSW but were not allowed to play it at SCG but at ANZ.
So one rule one year, but next year ... oh year it is GWS
I am.They shoupdnt have to host us at the scg lets be fair
Freo to beat the tigers this week.Need the Saints to beat the tigers in the last round
I am.
Stadium that can hold the biggest crowd & looks tha part gets the game.
