Who is Cam Bruce?

Cam Bruce as a player

Played over 200 games for Melb, mostly as a goal-kicking midfielder. But he was tall and versatile and was used as a utility, on the HBF, on the wing and a little up forward. Kind of in the Gibbs/Deledio mould, but not as flashy or skilled. Very good footballer, but not a star. Was co-captain and vice-captain during some of the dark days at Melb and won a B&F and placed in a few other seasons. Was moved on when Melbourne retired anyone who had reached puberty, and played two injury ravaged seasons at Hawthorn before retiring in mid-2012.

Cam Bruce as a coach

Bruce was appointed as a development coach with the Hawks in 2013 and after impressing in his role as a development coach, was promoted to a senior assistant coach with the Hawks in late 2013 (from Wiki). Has been there since.

Cam Bruce at Carlton
  • Cam was a talented, honest footballer. He had good fitness, nice skills and clearly was disciplined enough for the club to rely on him in various roles.
  • He was appointed co-captain and vice-captain, so you'd think he was a pretty solid citizen. A B&F in a spoon year looks unimpressive in one aspect, but it also shows he didn't throw in the chips when things turned sour.
  • He was quickly appointed to the Hawthorn coaching panel after retiring. And apparently quickly promoted to assistant coach after that.
  • Bolts would be familiar with his work and character. And Bruce would be familiar with what Bolts is doing (given its significantly modeled on Hawthorn).

Trade whisperer is usually rather unreliable, no?

Otherwise, the reason why Hawthorn'd be going for everyone we'd be going for is both troubling and affirming; troubling, in that them attempting to get most of our targets creates a market which raises the prices, and affirming, that our judgment is fairly good as far as talent spotting goes.

Meh, a bit of posturing methinks.

Every story he post are rubbish and have multiple holes in them, last one he posted we are offering a second round pick for Jack Redpath now we are offering a second round pick for Harley Balic. Currently we have no second round pick in 2017 and i can't see us trading our second pick next year as we will need it for 2nd SOJ, yet we are trading two of them go figure.

Doesn't get anything right, but has some comedic value.

One last year was his 'scoop' on the O'Meara deal "that would break the deadlock of trade week," - thing was he posted it B4 trade week had even started.
