Poor second half but let's keep it in perspective guys.

- Depleted defence with Marchbank out, Plowman a late withdrawal then losing Byrne early. Would have thrown our defensive plans into a bit of disarray, which we really saw after half time when the Swans upped the heat.
- Long season playing lots of kids every week, they'd be tired as ****. Second interstate game in 13 days.
- Lack of pressure and defensive structure (see point 1) leaving a guy who's essentially been an AFL KPD for half a season exposed against one of the most dynamic and brilliant forwards the game has seen.
- An in-form Sydney side hungry for finals and looking for %.
- An already poor midfield further depleted by the loss of Cripps and Curnow getting absolutely smashed at clearances. Mids SOS ... Mids.
- Carrying guys like Graham, Armfield and Smedts who just aren't AFL quality players in 2017.
- Some guys who may be gone after trade period looking a little disinterested today.

Think we mustered all our remaining energy and willpower for the win last week. was sort of like our Grand Final. Just didn't have enough left for what was asked of us today.

We have found some sensational young players with more on the way. Get some big pre-seasons into them and let's hit next year hard. Still plenty to be happy about if you're a Blues fan.

Or do you actually have examples of him pulling out of contests going back for a few weeks? If you don't, pull your head in.

Gibbs is a high quality Carlton player. Ffs show some respect and you can start by getting out of the misery of the moment.

If you had, you'd see I'm arguing in favor of Gibbs, but you've a history of insincerity behind you, so that makes me question your intent here.

I just hated losing, but if I had to listen to Roos critique joneses positioning one more time I reckon there'd be a stubby through the tv.
And then derwayne is just, well, derwayne. Unpleasant visual and audio.
On the game though meh, nothing to lose any hope over. Just a bad day at the office and some food for thought for next season.

Would really like to see Sos or Bolts come out and clarify the recruitment of players like Smedts & Palmer, if they were taken as salary dumps in order to get other picks or players in then just tell us that. If they were accepted for specific roles or attributes well they are seriously mistaken and harms their recruiting exploits of the past year or 2.

We have plenty of others who are not up to it but they will hopefully be weeded out this year or when there contracts are up, there is no place for sentiment in our situation we need to be ruthless from here. I would much rather watch young kids go about it instead of the types who we know cannot get any better and hurt us often when they play. Time for Dale Thomas, Nick Graham, Billie Smedts, Rhys Palmer etc to be shown the door, they offer nothing on the field and will only continue to clog our list.

Because Army is never in our best 22..nothing against him he has been a great servant of the club and has given his all on and off the Field , but he was never in our best 22 this year.

Agree to all except Daisy, I think he has done enough to be given another year ..even if just for depth..if they finish him up then i'm fine with that as well ...Smedts should have never have been given another Game
