That aint gonma happen because he's contracted and we need him. Dont hate the thought of a mutual agreeable trade, but I've thought about the options and concluded the makings of a deal just aren't there in this case.

Bok, what's the price on the Giants board that is consistent?
I would have thought that it would be less than Treloar...
Pick 7 - 1644
Pick 65 - 90
Pies Received pick 28 - 677

= oddly enough... close enough to 1000 points.
The number he cost the Giants for that little incident. Weird!

Being contracted & needed as a Giant his value is greater so to throw it out there the value should be around 15-1600 points anyway.

Late first & a mid second would seem about right.

I dont think we're that consistent so probably no real consensus. He was taken pick 1 originally and has developed well. Issue is our default would be not to trade him, I cant imagine us kicking him out the door in any circumstances. End of next year if he decides to go then yeah.
You only get one Collingwood in your lifetime so probably less than Treloar agreed. The rich vein of talent through the academy has dried up for the next year or two, so raw picks rather than points will be our goal if we do any trades.

You'd surely take a 2018 1st Rounder from Hawks & Poppy for Whitfield?

That's just insane. A 30 year old well past his best and a pick around 9-12 for an absolute jet of the comp? Get of the pipe mate. Hawks supporters need to understand their older premiership heros carry 0 currency now.

Players play on til 32-33 these days. Giants are in a Premiership window.... It's not like Brissie who are rebuilding & I see Poppy would be a waste of time for them.

You're just a supporter/member. Remember that. You literally don't know what is happening in Lachie's brain as you're not him. So the impossible in your eyes can be the possible. You can stay in this thread & discuss what clubs would have to give up for him the scenarios come into fruition.

I know crazy for a pick 66, 3 time premiership player.
We should give up future first round draft picks when we get Puopolo type of players with a fourth round draft pick.

I don't think anyone in any of the threads on this board honestly thinks they are list managers or actually negotiating deals. I find those that insist on pointing that out tend to simply be out to "score points" because they don't want to actually discuss whatever that person is posting.

What if he does know though, then you just sound silly. For all we know Andre could be Leon Cameron's account.

You're the bloke that offered an unknown future pick and a 30yo for former number 1 draft pick, gun, and contracted Lachie Whitfield??

I don't need to get in anyone's head to know that you would need to be criminally insane to do that trade.

Lachie if available (which he is not) would be worth an early 1st rounder and change. As he is contracted the change would need to be significant and youthful.

How about we offer you a 2nd round Rookie pick, Tendai Mzungu and Easter Show voucher for Ryan Burton? Surely the voucher would seal the deal??

That last paragraph is ridiculous. I agree though, future first and pop would probably get an uncontracted Whitfield but not a contracted one.

I'd be comfortable with Breust and 2018 1st for Whitfield and maybe a 2018 2nd or 3rd.
