OMFG this is music to my ears! Why has it taken the club until Bolts to realize this?Whoever it is at pick 3, instructions from Bolts is that they must have above average to elite foot skills. A "non negotiable" in his words.
Coffield? Still seems like someone who will pick up his rating, to me.
Very little evidence to feel this way........I just do.

Not with #3.
I still reckon if Rayner is there at #3, then it's him we take. If not, it'll be one of Cerra, LDU or Dow (depending on who's left after Bris and GC picks obviously).
Best user by foot of the 3? I'd say Cerra. Can hit target with his left but his preferred is right. Rarely misses targets especially when he has time. Who's the most impressive? Hard to say, I'd take Dow I like his acceleration and he is quite reliable by foot as well. LDU I feel like he uses his size to get the advantage over his fellow draftees but when he steps into AFL, that size advantage will be negated a bit. I can only go off what I've seen at the U18 championships and from that he didn't seem to hit too many targets by foot, tends to over shoot them.
I reckon it'll go
Bris: Dow
GC: Rayner
Carl: Cerra

We have been a Basket case in terms of disposal for sooo many years, and yet Malthouse wanted to cutesy about with short passes in the backline by players with no footskills!!
Bolts needs a raise just for this!!!
True, but considering this is the basis for the game, it would have been nice to have more than a small few that could kick it.We did take Watson & DVR and then Fields as a rookie. Need more than foot skills unfortunately.

Stephenson has really started motoring since being in the guts... Would you think his stocks are rising because of it Arr0w
Also, I read a lot of Dangerfield comparisons for Dow, I see a little more Dayne Zorko - what are your thoughts?
I still can't see past Rayner, I see a little weakness below his knees with ground balls, but I think he could play a key role up forward for us (thinking 20-25 goal a year forward in his first year) as he develops his tank.
I know a couple of here don't like LDU at our pick, but I really like the cut of his jib, and think he and Cripps in the middle for the next decade is really promising prospect.
End of the day, I think we can get a 200 gamer at pick 3 regardless, which is a great result for the footy club.
If we get pick 10 and keep 3 I'm hoping for Rayner/Dow at 3, Coffield at 10, bonar at 38, Hugh dixon at 56, Penrith at 75, draft done and running like a banditGeez if we got rayner and coffield id be beyond happy. Coffields a beautiful kick.
I just got one...OMFG this is music to my ears! Why has it taken the club until Bolts to realize this?

I doubt his beep is 11.
11 means he can't finish games even at that level
Why not? Who had Taranto @ #2 this time last year?
If he has the right character and we trust him to work into a permanent midfield role, Coffield seems to have several traits we'd love.
I don't know his story, but I do like the way he understands his surrounds. We'll see.

Dangerfield isn't considered a great kick and he goes O.K.
Kicking is just one trick. A good one to have, but nevertheless just one trick and I wouldn't want Bolton to pull rank in a Malthouse manner.
SOS is going O.K. and the baker should keep...........you know the rest.![]()
Couldn't agree more. Brilliant.
Yep... Doesn't take much for a player to bolt up the draft chain.
I think McRae and Ahern were massive bolsters... Where as Laverde went the other way.
Mitch Robinson and recently MacReadie were massive sliders...
It's no trick. It should just be a base line standard.
We never know what may yet come about, but we still have finals, testing, interviews etc to come about and to think we know who will be deemed to be the first picked at this point in time.........we're just kidding oursleves.
Players Coffield, Brander, Stephenson, Higgins and others may yet have claim for spots higher than we're seeing right now. It will change.
Everyone with a leg and a ball can kick. Elite kicking though is something else, but then;
So let's just draft another Watson ahead of Luke Parker.
Maybe another DVR ahead of Mitch McGovern.
Like I said; There's more to the game than kicking alone.
I'll just agree with the coach. Go Bolts [emoji106]
