bishop, Just your opinion on Darcy Fogarty

I see and like alot about his game and see some similarities with dusty (taking the game and tackler on and running out of a pack as well as going for the long pass to team mate and goal etc) But have some concerns about his pace , Just doesnt look like he is quick enough

Would you have any data on his 0-20 , repeat and tank

thanks

I don't think he's anything like Dusty. Martin always had an endurance aspect and better speed compared with Fogarty, they've both got long kicks - but not a comparison I'd use.

Aaron Francis the best comparison for Darcy Fogarty. He's not a player I'd be looking to draft - especially after his Champs. Some things really stood out seeing him live rather than some of his games which I've seen online - and I definitely had 'overrated' him on that over the last 12 months coming into the season.

Beep - 12.10

Those results aren't bad for a 192cm 92kg kid

And to be fair you watched him live this year when he had a knee issue

Thanks mate , For a med half fwd his tank and speed are not what i would be wanting, Ben Lennon territory here

Knee issues or not - there's no excuse for a lack of defensive effort and intensity. Plenty of kids have played injured/sick throughout the year. As I always allude to, Hamish Brayshaw played last year in the TAC Cup Finals with basically a broken foot - his efforts weren't lacking.

Need to stop looking for excuses with Fogarty. There's players far taller than him with better numbers than that.

If you want to bring up lack of defensive efforts I've seen them from numerous top prospects this year namely LDU in a few games. Even Coffield at times as good as he looks with the football hasn't worked as hard as he could without the ball.

Fact is fact Fogarty wasn't moving anywhere as freely as he did before he champs, i saw first hand at the Weitering vs Daniher game he seemed to move around with ease and that certainly wasn't the case for the champs and that was only a month or so after.

Excuses or not I believe if your going to give a fair evaluation of him you need to factor in his form before the injury which was top 5 quality.

I will give you one thing, you say what you think.

Saw him in both AFL Academy games - moved freely in those games. Again you're looking for the excuses...

Not everyone had him in the top 5 category before this "injury" - especially those at clubland. The fact that he doesn't have a clear position means there's a lot of question marks on him.

Any chance Noah Balta could become a midfielder within a few years?
I see him as a much better version of Blicavs

Possibly, I know the Calder coach I think it is has mentioned a few times he'd like to see him there. Has got athletic traits which would appeal. One of the few players in the draft that could play anywhere.

I thought when he played ruck for Calder, he was clearly one of the most mobile and dangerous. He played more like an old school follower/ruck rover.

It's not a big stretch but he isn't an elite decision maker with ball in hand, more like a Blicavs than a Mundy!

He played ruck during his U14/16 years.

Do you still think he could last to Richmond's second 1st round pick?

Yep - but it wouldn't surprise me to see him fall in the 20s.

Hey bishop could you post the top 10 20M sprint. It seems this days those quick blokes are the game changers

20m SPRINT:
1 Jack Petruccelle – Northern – 2.820s
2 Dave Smith – Murray – 2.838
3 Josh Bateman – Dandenong – 2.864
4 Troy Brimble – Sandringham – 2.877
5 Jack Evans – Calder – 2.882
6 Ed Richards – Oakleigh – 2.890
7 Ethan Penrith – Northern – 2.891
8 Nicholas Coffield – Northern – 2.892
9 Will Leslie – Gippsland – 2.898
10 Ben Paton – Murray – 2.903

PFs tomorrow at Simonds.

Will be interesting to see how Worpel/Parrish fare against LDU/Clark.

Geelong's forwardline -v- Dandenong's Backline will determine the game. If De Wit and Clavarino can't deal adequately with the Geelong key talls, the Falcons can get it done and book a GF spot. Sadly, home ground advantage will have a part to play here.

Late game is the best two Metro units with injury clouds hovering everywhere! High possession, fast handballs, short kicks, plenty of run, with the Dragons' midfield depth the key here. Chargers deserve favouritism on the back of a magnificent body of work in the previous 5 months.

Interesting to note that aside from LDU pretty much none of the popular top 10 candidates has survived through to week 2 of the TAC finals. I believe it's these games which recruiters really focus on - given what's at stake.

Accordingly, I'm tipping plenty of "surprises" in November with the best performers tomorrow and next Sunday to unseat a few of the "fan favourites" in the Draft.

Anybody see the 'Young guns' Game today ...heard it was pretty ordinary???
Ordinary is an understatement, too many players playing for themselves and their local teammates. Would be lucky to see any more than 5 get picked up this year.

Not sure why they bother.....anyhow smarter punters than me organise these things. Thought there were only 2 that played last year that got rookied?

The who's who of recruiting where there, stood next to shifter in the last quarter and chatted about a few players here and there, he is optimistic but me not so much

Quick write up of the game? Bests?
I'll put a list of my better players on the draft watch thread on our board, anyone who wants to bring up players I'll answer little things, it's not really worth doing a massive write up on

I think 5 getting picked up would be double and a half the record draft haul from this game. Most ever is 2 I believe.

Far worse than Ordinary

5!!! More like lucky to be one !

The worst standard Young Guns Game I've seen, considering their skills weren't up there to start with - the poor conditions didn't help.

Quick write up of the game? Bests?

No bests at all - will be lucky to be 2-3 that played that ended up getting drafted. When clubs are shutting their notebooks, with some leaving at 3QT you know they've made up their mind to not bother.
