The problem is that everything is stacked in favour of the player.

Reckon we have to start recruiting gay footballers (not that there is anything wrong with that) so that way their partners don't want to go home like little mummys boys.:)
Bizarro. Gay people don't miss their mum ?

He's said he expects Sloane to be at Adelaide long term and he can dismiss recent chatter.

We haven't begun negotiations but expect to over preseason.

In just a moment you'll have people screaming about the unique circumstances to each case that absolves the club of any responsibility
So what can the club do? What isn't it doing?

We can't just draft South Aussies, we'd have the shittest list in the afl.

We can't offer incentives under the table, we get caught doing that s**t.

We can't bring the bright lights and media deals and other underhanded side deals that Melbourne clubs have as an advantage. We can't use Cola. What is it you think the club's not doing? Not having a go at you, I just can't see where the AFC can compete, or do more than they do at the moment.

Moneyball time !!! the new game needs to be players for particular roles and understand that players have a life span. If the players aren't going to be loyal why should the club. we need to identify what players we need for particular roles, then we need to target players that fulfill that brief and who may not be highly regarded at their clubs, some what like Eddie. Hawthorn did this to great effect. we as a club have to move away from this mentally that the only way to build a club is with drafting and developing players.

Easier said than done. Not realistic either because you still have to get those decent targeted players to come here. A sideways shift to Hawks when you live in Melbourne is not like a shift to sleepy hollow 750Ks away from your home playground.

We just made a GF. We have one of the best drafting and trading teams in the league. We brought in Hampton, Seed and Menzel (2 out of 3 ain't bad :)). Lever goes and we bring in Gibbs. Port don't seem to have trouble attracting players so it's not obviously an Adelaide the city thing. Calm down people.
