Port don't seem to have trouble attracting players...with issues. We finished 2nd on the ladder. Port finished 7th. These superstars who forego everything to play for Port...who are they again?We just made a GF. We have one of the best drafting and trading teams in the league. We brought in Hampton, Seed and Menzel (2 out of 3 ain't bad). Lever goes and we bring in Gibbs. Port don't seem to have trouble attracting players so it's not obviously an Adelaide the city thing. Calm down people.

Ryder rockliff Dixon and Polec would all make our side.
At least we don't need to worry about Ned the Flog Guy sending Sloane elsewhere.. don't think Pies would get him so hopefully this helps in keeping him now.

I’m betting even if he did say he’d look at going home next year, we’d back ourselves in to change his mind. Also not want to have to deal with the fall out after lever and Cameron already.

I did over the last 8-10 weeks up until last Saturdays unexpected choke.
I know. I'm still in denial.
Maybe this whole thing is all some kind of mix-up? Like Melbourne put a $900k x 4 year offer to Ned Guy for Rory Sloane, but Guy got confused and thought it was for Lever, so he passes that on to Lever, Lever publicly accepts said offer and now everybody is too embarrassed to admit they screwed it up so they're all just going with it?
$900k x 4 makes a hell of a lot more sense for Sloane than it does for Lever.

Reckon the club knows sloane will probably leave as a free agent but are willing to hope he helps us win a flag next year and just take the compo pick, if they still exist in 12 months.

Tex probably redid his deal to accomodate keeping Lever and Gov. Now he's extra pissed at Lever
Sloane was prepared to do the same but his manager had a better insight as to whether that was necessary or not didn't he...

It wont matter if Sloane goes, he's given us service and I think he will want the club he goes to to give us fair compensation
And we will continue to pick footballers that other recruiting staff overlook and develop them into team footballers
We wont bottom out and its actually a compliment to us that other teams look to grab players we develop just as its a compliment to Alistair Clarkson that so many of his assistant coaches have become head coaches.
At least we are not a 4th rate Melbourne club asking for handout all the time from the AFL, unable to develop players and a team and just waiting for Victorian footballers to get " homesick and missing family" so they can get a ready made player because they are too busy taking holidays in the snow and having lunches in Toorak or drinks with the old boys club

We keep saying that about nearly everyone who leaves, including Danger, but it doesn't ever happen. For a start the player has basically no say in it unless they don't specify a club, which almost always never happens.
