Strangely, if their bodies hold up, it is a good deal, probably the best Suss has done so far with GWS
Heath Shaw more likely to retire, he was awful this year ......Carlton have already declared their age profile of trades ......and they have zero need, with Docherty & Simpson ......all BS!

If we can't get anyone in then I don't think Charlie will be going anywhere.
I know that's the perception that's out there, but unlike Gibbs, Cameron's form dipped badly this year because he isn't happy here. There is no point forcing a player to stay and play poorly in the last year of his contract, decreasing his trade value. He will be traded regardless of who comes in.

The good news is his replacement is already here. You're next man up Gooch!

Here's how I see it.

Gov is not coming here. Eagles aren't stupid

Gibbs is not coming here. We aren't stupid enough to give up enough

Motlop to the AFL Suns.

Francis a possibility if we give up a late first. This might happen with 18.

Charlie to Brisbane for 18.

Lever to Dees for 10 & 2018 first. If this doesn't happen, North will be the big winners.
Bit negative !!!

West Coast will be rebuilding and whilst I agree they shouldn't be letting him go, if he's told them he's going to have a look at FA then West Coast would be negligent not to look around early to see what they can get.

That said there's about a 5% chance of it happening

Rumour doing the rounds again that Hogan not happy at the Dees, partcularly Watts leaving (no doubt to pay Lever's salary)

Maybe we could attempt the following:
Freo: Gain Hogan, lose pick 5
Dees: Gain Lever, pick 16. Lose Hogan, pick 10
Us: Gain pick 5, pick 10. Lose Lever, pick 16

Gives us a high first rounder and a 6 pick upgrade for Lever.

Fair deal?

Not for Melbourne

Somehow I don't see the Dees would let Watts and Hogan both go in the same year. Love for it to happen, but effectively you're asking the Dees to do a straight swap of Lever for Watts + Hogan.

If we managed to get big Guv this trade period I would be so stiff for so long that they'd have to put me on a dialysis machine to pump blood to my brain for fear of (more) permanent brain damage.
If we get the Big Brother, you meant to say needing regular blood transfusions...But if we do get him, any mad/sad/bad news this year will be forgiven!

He wasn't behind anybody, Craig had his unhelpful selection policies which was the only reason Gunston played limited games. He looked to be one of the best young forwards in the game when he left.
I remember saying who is this Gunston bloke. Where’s he been hiding? The boy can play. Why hasn’t he been playing? Can’t wait to see him getting regular games next season. Nek ****ing minnit, he does a runner!

So you're suggesting Melbourne are going to get less for a contracted Hogan than what they give up for Lever?

Watts and pick 27 to geelong
Picks 20 and 33 to melbourne

Lever to melbourne
Picks 10 and 20 to adelaide

Cameron and pick 34 to brisbane
Pick 12 to adelaide

Picks 10 and 12 to west coast
JMcgovern to adelaide

Pick 16 and 2018 2nd rd pick to carlton
Gibbs to adelaide
You know what. All I saw was JMcGov to Adelaide, and I cried a little, because I know this won’t happen.
