An inflated assessment IMHO. Murphy has been maligned for his lack of intestinal fortitude and if he decides to jump ship in the current climate then he can GAGF and let the door hit him on the way out.

I only agree with this because Gibbs is on the market from his own doing. If Murphy can't reconcile that a colleague asked to be traded last season, then I hope we get something of value for him from the saints.

Love that the crows are reportedly asking for Zorko in the Cameron trade. SOS should turn around and say "in light of recent changes in the market we feel that anything less than Sloane for Gibbs is unacceptable. Gibbs has +200 games experience and 2 years on his contract which adds value to his worth". I mean if Cameron is worth an AA because he is contracted for a year then surely Gibbs is worth a better AA as he is contracted for two .......

The word for a little while has been that a certain senior player has told the club he’s off if Gibbs is traded. If true, it might suggest why we are looking for a player as well as picks.

Seems odd, not like we’re shopping him around or forcing him to leave.

It was Gibbs idea to leave last year, and if he was traded it would be to his personal benefit.

Over on the Adelaide board they've all blinked.

Pick 10 is now definitely on the table, and some are even suggesting that 2 x 1sts (or 16 and Cameron) is actually pretty fair. They want to keep 10 for a swipe at Fogarty.

Not with #10. Pick #16 I'd be willing. There's 'tiers' to this year's draft. Top 4 (in no particular order) are:

Dow, Rayner, Cerra and LDU

After that, the next tier is:

Constable, Fogarty, Brayshaw, Higgins, Brander, Stephenson, O'Brien, Bonar and Coffield.

Of course, that's my opinion. But with #3 + #10 we get 2 of those. With #16 we might not.

Yeah, that's my thinking right now as well. Adelaide have 10, 16 and an extra 2018 1st with the possibility of acquiring 12, 18 or 20 for Cameron with the earlier picks being more likely. Adelaide might want to keep 10 to have a shot at Fogerty so 12 and 16 could be the go but it equally could end up 10 and 18 or even 10/12 and a 2018 1st. I'm ok with any of those. I think regardless of the combination it might be best to take 10/12 to the draft for the best of those 'second tier' guys that's available and if there's a second pick in this draft move it to GWS for Kennedy with something coming back (pick or player). If it's one 2017 pick and one 2018 pick I'd like us to use our 2018 2nd to get Kennedy and still draft the first pick.

I think it's irresponsible list management if it's true that we knocked back 10 and 16. That's a wonderful deal for us.

It's probably not as simple as that. The Cameron trade will probably play a part in how hard Adelaide are willing to go (or vice versa and the Cameron trade is hinging on if Adelaide can get Gibbs).

There's a chance that if SOS wants picks he's going for a 2017 and 2018 1st round. Or that Adelaide haven't offered 10 & 16 but have actually offered 16 and 54 or their 2018 3rd or something stupid. Maybe they want to do 16 and 18 (from Cameron) but want us to give them our 40. Who knows. We might find out in 29 hours...
