I reckon our first trade is at 2pm.

Anyone else want to guess. Closest to the mark wins a "you idiot" from thy

I must be closest to the mark really regularly....

Hartung a DFA ? If the Hawks seriously think he is not worth retaining, perhaps due to acquiring Impey, they need their heads read
Well it would seem we're not about to use #40, #58 or our future 3rd and 4th picks on him, so yeah.

He's a great runner, but really sit down and take a look at his stats: 3 I50s, 1.2 R50s, 360 metres gained, 1.4 clearances a game, 5 goals and 6 goal assists for the year. 8th in the league for bounces.

Pretty ineffective. If he gets delisted, we should look at him then.

If Lang does want to stay in Melbourne, and he's considering GC, then you'd imagine the dollars on offer are higher from GC. If so, I wonder if the AFL has had a hand?

$300k of Ablett's Suns contract will be forwarded to whichever Cat agrees to be traded to the Suns as part of the Ablett deal according to AFL site.

WTF? 800K for Weller.
Someone should be sacked if throwing around good salary cap money at Gold Coast like that.

They can't get players up there so they have to pay well and truly overs
Weller will be a good player but 800 is not worth it
As much as lever and he isn't worth 800
The danger is inflating the market for the kids
Will cause problems and grumblings in those clubs
Sos and co are smart getting rid of inflated wages

Look
If you had
One shot
Or one opportunity
To seize two first round draft picks
In one moment
Would you lodge the deal
Or just it slip?
anyone else read that to eminem's lose yourself?

It is sad.
Wish someone took control of that club and gave it some direction and leadership.
Hope Stewie Dew at least makes them respectable.

The AFL clearly is...instilling Mark Evans there was the first step and he's conducted a review. Got rid of Ashcroft and i think got a new CEO.

Plus the highly regarded Dew as head coach. Something tells me the AFL had a hand in that appointment.

They also have already announced Tom Lynch can get extra 'ambassador' money to stay at GC and have likely helped them by giving Geelong pick 19 for Motlop.

Offering Weller overs would probably have as much to do with getting some positive PR as his playing ability, having a talented young player nominate them for a change, rather than the other way around.

Stats have improved each year and not bad for 78% TOG

As I said, no superstar, but would walk into our side.

They are the facts

For what its worth (so basically nothing) I would be OK if the club kept Gibbs, swapped 3rd pick for Kennedy and hit the draft. I could live with losing Gibbs but only if we are paid overs. We will be a much better team in 2 years time if Gibbs decided to leave under free agency. If he leaves now we will have a hole in the part of our lineup that is already arguably our weakest. Basically we cant cover for losing Gibbs. Bolton would be gutted to lose Gibbs and perhaps some of our progress stalls. All this is potentially overlooked with the gloss of massive overs but I'm not sure Pick 10 or 16 in a shallow draft gets that done. I could not care less what Adelaide think is fair value, their opinion is irrelevant as it is a seller's market and we dont want to sell. Find a way to change our mind or go back to West Lakes and keep sooking!

That won't happen.

Well hopefully Mark Evans is not just there for two or three years and moves on. Hopefully he spends a good decade there and really drives that club to have real roots in the ground for the long term growth.
They need an on field leader too. Be great if they found a young Michael Voss type that gave the Bears a heart back in the day. Guess the Bears took a good 8 years before they started become a real club around 95.
I respected them in their 95 final against us. Actually pushed us for a bit and could finally see they had a future.

Can't see whose spot he would be taking other than Lamb's, who isn't even best 22. Thomas thrashes him in terms of decision making, versatility and attacking influence.

Walks onto the list no problem and into the selection mix, but not the 22.
