KERRY Turner was going to come home for dinner that Saturday night but changed her plans at the last minute go clubbing with her best mate Kylie.

On that June 30 night in 1991, the teenagers ended up at Perth CBD nightspot Pinocchio’s (Magnet House on Murray St) but were separated once inside.

Kerry, 18, didn’t have enough money to take a taxi all the way home to Bickley so the cabbie dropped her outside an all-night cafe in East Victoria Park. (Miller rd and Shepperton hwy)

Police hunted for the vehicle, described by witnesses as a dark blue car, similar to a Datsun 260C, which had spoked wheels, but came up empty-handed.

Six years earlier their son Jamie, 18, died after being injected with drugs by a man who was later convicted of his manslaughter.

The West Australian June 18th, 1988, page 1. By Steve Lague. New Southside murder hunt.

• Police find partially clothed body of Vanessa Roberta Devlin 23 years old.

• Certain similarities to other attacks by south side rapist.

• Found on floor of a sleepout at the rear of an Albany Highway house. House is 100m from highway and no close by neighbours with a railway line running alongside.

• South side rapist may be responsible for more than 16 attacks on women in the past 2 years. They include the murder of Victoria Clark aged 30.

• Suspect is mid 20’s 175 cm tall medium build, dark curly hair and brown eyes.

• Police unwilling to say just one man was responsible. Maybe shift worker.

• Federal Police allege Victoria Devlin was involved in a heroin ring.

• Victoria Devlin (23) was charged with heroin possession several days before being killed, under the customs act.

• Denis Michael Herbert (26) was charged the day before and is in Canningvale Remand Centre. He had a visit from VD on the day she was murdered. It was alleged she was a courier bringing heroin in from the Eastern States.

Pg 30 Arrest, but rapist search still on by Andrew Masterson.

• James Alexander Tilbury (46) was arrested for the VD murder.

• A man is still sought for the southside rapes and the Victoria Clark (30) murder. There had been nine rapes in 1986, five in 1987 and one so far this year.

This would suggest more than one occupant in the dark blue car. It implies at least 2 occupants, probably in the front seat?

Kerry was just 18 on June 29, 1991, when she went for a night out with a girlfriend to Pinocchio’s nightclub on Murray Street, but she never made it home.
Her body was found a month later near Canning Dam.
Kerry’s father John Turner said he and his wife Sue were confident advancements in technology and cold-case investigation would see justice done eventually.

Kerry had become separated from her friend soon after entering Pinocchio’s, and had spent the evening mingling before leaving on her own about 4am.

That friend, Kylie Gilchrist, has been haunted ever since.

"It's just mystifying that she would be so positively walking around the back of the car and getting in [unless she knew the person]," Mr Turner said.

This is not the exact placement of Kerry Turner. We don't have that. But it is Canning Dam where they said she was left. The travel solution is, stop at Fountain, up to Canning dam and back
Pictures show a more level site which would suggest she was left well short of up the hill near the dam.

They were familiar with this area. It was their home ground.

A former waiter, Masters lived in a unit overlooking Ms Clark's ground floor flat when he broke in through a side window in 1987. When she came home he raped, mutilated and beat her before smothering her with a cushion.

Just had a quick scout for anything new and found this article dated Saturday 22nd June 2018. Which mentions Kerry Turner.
Other than that though nothing else that I could see.
