To play midfield they have to be able to gut run and stay in the play for four quarters. Some players don’t have that level of comitment and concentration. It’s not just about building a tank.

In the case of Rayner, he’d still be a top 3 pick if all he ever did was play as a forward, but is that What Carlton needs right now. I’m still undecided. I think they need a line breaker, a distributer and a goal scorer. There are many combinations of players that will give them this.

Best pick factors in the needs. Best pick at 3 we know is going to be a mid. I’d be surprised if they go for Hayes at pick 10, even though he’s a top 10 talent. Then pick 30 is all about needs.

I can’t see SOS selecting a tall defender at pick 10. Can you?

My ideal trades would be Brayshaw at 3 and Coffield at 10. I feel this is what suits our needs best. Brayshaw is a guaranteed 200 game player with little weakness.

Played for the Dragons in the back end of the year, Balmer's website is just generating traffic now because there aren't Championship highlights for him.

Gutsy call on the copper Arrow. I really like him too, Had him at 6 on my final Board and i thought that was gutsy and backing my judgement lol.

There is simply no way Constable is THE best prospect in this draft.

How can you be so certain of that given recent history. Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Selwood, Lynch and Lever (arguable) were never in the mix for top 3 yet turned out the best player or close to it. None were top 5 pick candidates.

There is a strong correlation for the higher picks being the better players but as for the BEST player, it can still come from further back in the first round.

Dangerfield - didn't want to skip year 12
Pendlebury - picked football late
Selwood - knee concerns
Lynch - late developer and needed a lot of conditioning work
Lever - knee concerns
