Our Northern Blues VFL side is a clue to the area where we should target.

Our historical heartland of support, Carlton, Brunswick, Coburg - where have those second and third generation families gone.
and further north into lalor, mill park etc - lance and kouta land............

Outer suburbs

Probably a few missed opportunities in the past with the Bendigo, WA and SA connections all strong and a little ignored. We need to target and rebuild the markets again.

If we had our old zone and say the system was we get to pick the best kid from the zone each year (bendigo pioneers) I think we would currently have on our list (assuming we picked well)

Joel Selwood
Scott Selwood
Dustin Martin
Sam Kerridge :)
and one of Jake Stringer or Ollie Wines

Zones can make a huge difference.

Yeah we were 'lucky' with the old zone, but times and rules change. We are more a victim of ourselves than anything else though. Given a choice I'd take the Cannons or Stingrays before any of the other zones.

Exactly- we should be aiming to create a Northern Melbourne Metropolitan Wedge.

The North region has the biggest population growth projection over the next 10 to 30 years. 500k to 700k projection.

You are 100% spot on. This region should be targeted in a big way.

We also have a large nation wide television supporter base. These supporters need to be targeted also.

As for the Traditional Carlton/Brunswick suburbs, these have become trendy apartment suburbs with a mixed origin supporter crowd

We also need to capture a lot of the older supporters and win them back. They have become disenchanted with the club over the past 20 years and hence their immediate offspring have been lost. Some to other successful clubs. We have a database full of these families and we should start the re-engagement with them asap.

Has Caro or anyone else come out in the media and put up their hand to say they stuffed up?
How they are not held to be accountable is beyond me.
The moment this news broke I went looking for Wilson’s twitter ... I wanted blood!! Btw she no longer uses it , very disappointed.

Also lots of students in brunswick/carlton. Especially international students who arent likely to buy memberships.

AFAIK she doesn't have a Twitter account.

There is a parody Caro account (caro_whine) and it's hilarious how some think that it's the real Caro.

The Tigers membership started moving upwards in 2009 the year brendan Gale was appointed CEO . Gale appointed Liddle in 2010. I guess the point is , it is hard to separate the incredible growth in richmond membership from either the Gale or Liddle tenure. Its a bit like trying to separate Clarkson and his assistants from the hawthorn premierships. The Jury is out on Liddle until he starts performing on his own

We are not tracking too bad Jimmae. If we can stabilise 50K and start to build its a pretty healthy supporter base.

^^^
Agree with this. Given we had 50k members last year on the back of another season without finals isn't such a terrible thing. Hopefully Liddle can take us to the next level.

Ground floor perfumery,
stationery and leather goods,
wigs and haberdashery
kitchenware and food...going up

Let's not fool ourselves. Negative growth since 2013.
Are there any other Victorian teams (Just about any teams) with negative growth over the same period.
The numbers are s**t. Let's be honest and without excuses.

About 4 years ago we where shopping around for a new energy company, I can’t remember which one ...but they where offering a Richmond membership (prob just a basic one) if you switched, interesting initiative, i suppose the energy company subsidises the membership ...

We did the same thing but offered a rebate. Tie that to a membership instead and we would get back the latent support. Opportunity was missed.
