As a neutral who hates both Ford and Holden, the penalty was the only thing the officials could do, but this is going to be a controversial decision and controversial championship no matter what.

Looked like the worst of the hit though came from the wall coming out and narrowing at that point of the track. Immediate call from the officials which is never done. Can put a nice * on this championship to Whincup.
Yeah, poor track design and place for it to occur, but if the wall wasn't there McLaughlin's move across to pinch Lowndes would have forced the latter off the track. The desperate attempt to cover Lowndes was understandable, but for mine it's a clear penalty.

Ultimately Lowndes wouldn't have got past if it wasn't McLaughlin's mistake moments earlier.

Umm I find that hard to believe mate
Tell me, shoe on the other foot, is it a penalty ??

It's a very tough block, borderline illegal block but he has to be able to defend. He moved once, squeezed Lowndes and Craig wanted to go on with it. He HAS to be able to defend his position for a championship

Assuming that DJRTP protest, they need to use Whincup’s move at Pukekohe as an example. Whincup was black flagged, which should’ve bee now Scott’s penalty.
Definetly right.

Either way there's an asterix next to this title
