Andana et al, I guess a couple of recent signings and finishing off the year with some competitive performances, promotion of youth and a colts flag etc can buoy EF fans enthusiasm for next year. Believe the recruiting isn't finished yet from what I have heard, obviously enticing a Palmer or Swallow to the club would be beneficial in terms of quality and experience, time will tell if these boys are even interested.
Looking over EF list, there definitely looks a healthy injection of height, with Loersch, Griffin and Bristow boosting EF height coffers.....up back still think EF lack that defender to out muscle the likes of Shaw, Maister, Lee, Keitel etc from opposition clubs.....though Winton, Jupp and more exposure of league footy for Bailey, EF have a number of those 192/93 cm defenders.....obviously Lester-Smith won't be available till mid 2018 I presume.....will miss Stephen's experience, though Schofield will no doubt undertake a leadership role up back in facilitating the development of Creasey, Franklin, Cuneo, Pearton and colts premiership boys in Scott(may get rookied), Nevill, Rajanayagam, Stone and Jackson.

The likes of Marsh, Eardley and Jansen will provide the nucleus of EF midfield department, obviously getting more footy out of Hampson, Macca and LA will be crucial to also help the development of younger mids in Bennett, Marshall, Harding, Holmes, Burton, Kalazjic,Omodei, Dion Anthony and Harrold, but there is also the likes of colts mids in Baskerville, Alone, Quill, Campbell and D'Antoine searching for opportunities. Add a Palmer or Swallow to that mix and EF midfield options do look healthy....not too sure where the likes of a Henson fits into all this.....think he may of retired anyway.

Up front obviously Watson going will hurt, honestly with Griffen, Bristow, Symonds and Cronan on board, Watson could of been used as that key forward or defender which he didn't really get an opportunity to perform due to his required minutes of rucking, pity that. Loersch, Griffen and Symonds provide EF with some serious tall targets up front, with also the likes of Bristow, O'Reilly, Ellis(if fit) Howson, Mirco and to a lesser degree Perham floating in and out from time to time.....all those boys would get opposition 3rd defenders, where as this year they probably all got(bar Bristow) opposition 1st and 2nd defenders.....so hopefully getting these guys in the game more. Smaller forwards in Kommer, Ryan, Green, Perry , BOB (if fit), Montauban, Fahey and perhaps a Palmer would definitely reap the benefits with some bigger bodies providing a contest up front....young premiership colts in Ritchie, Blurton, Collard and Lewis also if hanging around provide some depth and zip in this area too.

Ruck wise, disappointing to see Jack Fletcher at Subi, but hey with EF ruck queue of Griffen, Bristow, Cronan, Symonds, Loersch and Borgogno, can't blame Fletcher moving on seeking opportunities elsewhere and TBH despite Subi's playing riches, the ruck is one area they do lack options in.
Obviously players will come and go and some of those names mentioned might not even be at the club in 2018, hopefully they will be at the club tho.

Plenty to look forward to, couple more signings and one would like to thing EF might be in a position like SD were this year to put some quality performances together and get themselves up the ladder into finals contention.....time will tell.....the draft is next week, so most clubs will have a better idea whose available and whose not....bring on 2018

Snadden signs on for 2 years....good to see home growns in Griffen, Jansen and Snadden return.....add in Swallow and /or Palmer and that is a great coup to go with Kommer and Loersch joining the club....early days of course, but great to see the club being so proactive early on...

Palmer was cut from Carlton coz his body couldn't take AFL requirements. Might be fighting for a spot at forward pocket.

From all reports though he was still a very valuable player at VFL level so would be a great get.

Understand Palmer is very good with his coin - seems like he may spend a few years travelling.

Touch wood that is true mate..at 193cm and growing he definitely fills that key defender spot for EF....feel gutted for the guy....definitely worth a punt on a clubs list....

Andrew Swallow signs with Aspley in the NEAFL....pity that but no way EF could of matched what Aspley were offering.....couple of other potential signings waiting to be ticked off for EF I hear.....though money will always be the sealer....sadly something a lot of WAFL clubs lack....more so EF....regardless if EF get these guys, not a bad off-season recruiting drive TBH.

Heard WP offered Palmer $1300 per match and got told it wasn't enough...not too sure EF could offer that....TBH if Palmer was going to stay loyal at EF surely he would of signed by now....reckon Cl,Subi or SF might be in better positions to snare Palmer...but hey wouldn't say no either if EF could afford him

TBH andana EF have lost Peake, Watson and Crichton from their books.. so one can assume Griff, Boekhurst and Kommer have replaced them cost wise, whilst Jansen, Snadden and Loersch surely can't be on big bucks considering their short or non existent AFL careers...plus EF are being proactive off the footy field with membership packages and obtaining new sponsers to help fund the current recruiting campaign.... recruiting Palmer would be a stretch financially one would think tho...might need his tsf fee to pay these guys

Good to see the likes of Kommer, Loersch and Boekhurst officially on EF playing list now....also other additions are ex SD player Sean Fletcher, ex Cl Jeff Wynne and ex waafl u/23 rep from Wesley Curtin Jack Belchelli....think another mid tier signing on the radar tsf permitting....not sure Palmer even knows what he is doing....not fussed TBH....well done EF recruiting boys

Sounds like Palmer has signed on at Swans for 2018.... apparently EF didn't have enough left in the kitty to meet Palmers demands.... obviously always good to get local grown delisted AFL boys back to EF when possible, but can't have everyone. Wish Palmer well at SD, sounds like he won't come cheap, at least whatever tsf fee was paid for Boekhorst will be reimbursed for Palmer. Reports suggest all the new boys have settled in well at EF and most of EF youngsters are training well and looking forward to a competitive 2018

It's a shame we didn't get Palmer. Happy with the recruiting and bird in the hand is better than two in the bush.

Can see young Chris Scott getting some game time up back....at 193/4 cm looks like a future EF CHB....and up the other end Dillon O'Reilly playing at CHF....though think colts coach Brennan might want them both himself tho.....

The East Fremantle Football Club is delighted to announce that Jonathon Griffin will lead the Sharks in 2018. Matthew Jupp was elected his second in command, while Jonathon Marsh and Cameron Eardley round out this year’s smaller leadership group. In a consistent approach to stripping preseason right back, having a smaller leadership group was decided upon.
