Now just watch Gore develop into a promising midfielder and get drafted to the AFL side along with Siggins develop as a Key position player and watch our friends on the Crows board melt worse than the wicked witch of the west

So, with Gore back - what did we actually give up for Dangerfield?

Picks 9 and 28. Pick 9 was used on Wayne Milera and pick 28 traded to Carlton for Troy Menzel, who was also delisted.

So, basically, at the minute it stands as Danger for a 20yo who is averaging about 15 possessions a game over 24 games.

FWIW pick 28 ended up at North and after bidding was pushed back to pick 31 and used to select Ryan Clarke. We also got pick 50 in this trade which we used to get Zac Smith. So essentially it looks like this:

OUT: Gore, Milera, R.Clarke.
IN: Z.Smith, P.Dangerfield.

So much for “trading away our future.”

Darn pay walls. :(
SANFL high performance manager Brenton Phillips says Adelaide has cleverly found its Patrick Dangerfield replacement in Dean Gore.

Phllips has described Sturt product Gore — the deal maker in the Dangerfield trade to Geelong — as a mini version of Dangerfield and a yet-to-be-proven replica of Cats captain Joel Selwood.

He says the Crows have been well compensated for losing superstar 2015 club champion Dangerfield to Geelong, having also been dealt national draft picks nine and 28.

Surely Gore has an asterisk beside his name as he is now back in the hoops.

I actually think speaks volumes for the club that we are in a situation where an interstate player we drafted and had on our list for 1 season before being traded back "home" (not necessarily his wish or ours), decides to return to play for our VFL side.

It should be a credit to those involved with the club, including those behind the scenes, that players are willing to move interstate to play for our VFL side.

This thread will bust the 10k post limit in March if Gore has a great preseason and start to the year...

Buy shares in popcorn futures people... that stuff is gonna fly off the shelves.
