I think people in SF city would consider oracle in the burbs and a hassle to go to. At least a 30 min train ride from Embarcadero. If you don't live near a BART station in SF, then you'll have to drive to one or catch a bus or cable car to a BART.
Then if you choose to drive the traffic on the bay bridge after work is next level. I never seen anything like it (besides NY, and I ain't been to LA). I wouldnt bother going to a regular game at oracle if I lived on the SF side of the bay.
And if SF based fans can't be assed going to oracle I doubt the 1500 east bay fans your concerned about are going to bother to make the trip to the mission district. Hence why they are pissed the team are going across the bay. They are pissed cause it is easy for east bay fans to get to oracle and they don't care that it's hard for SF fans to get to oracle. In 2020, east bay fans will have to cross the bridge and a lot of them, I'd say at least 1500, won't bother going to as many games.
I can't imagine that, with all the research and crowd projections the GSW would have done for the stadium, they would go with a smaller stadium if they thought they could consistently sell out a 20k plus stadium. The projections must have told them a 18k stadium is the right size.
I understand people saying "well this move to SF sux for loyal east bay fans as around 19k turn up week in week out and it's all about the economics and ALL east bay fans get screwed". I get that and agree. You can't deny if you were a east bay GSW fan you'd be pissed.
But to say 1500 people now can't get to a game in SF? I don't agree. Lets say currently 15k GSW fans at oracle are east bay fans. That means 5k come across the bridge from SF to oracle home games (I'm just guessing. Maybe less maybe more come from SF). But there is no way 15k east bay fans are gonna cross the bridge to watch them in SF every home game. You might be lucky to get 5k purely because of the inconveience of getting across the bay. So the 1500 number becomes kind of redundant. Moving to SF means the dynamics of the GSW fan market has completely changed and flipped on its head.
It would be like moving Geelong to MCG full time. Or, an even better analogy due to the way the harbour dissects Sydney, moving Manly Sea Eagles home games to the SFS. A much smaller percentage of fans are going to travel from Geelong or Manly to see their team play every home game at MCG and SCG. Therefore you have to re do your crowd projections based on the demographics in the new area your moving to.
Doesn't that make it even worse though ?
They are going alienate the most passionate part of their supporters, for one purpose only, move into the bay and make more $$.
I'm a GSW fan since I was little, but I think it's pretty much a cash grab. Really sad

This video was a recommend video when I opened my YouTube home page. I have no idea who BIM are but they say they are definitive video channel for construction. There are plenty of great videos of non stadium construction stuff at their youtube home page. I have become a subscriber.

This video below was only a couple of weeks old and has their 5 top stadiums being constructed around the world to be opened by 2020. 5th is the new Perth Stadium and 1st is the Los Angeles Stadium at Hollywood Park I linked on the previous page. Have a look at the unusual place they are putting the athletics rack at the 3rd placed new Frenec Puskas Stadium in Budapest Hungary built as the national stadium for the national football team and will host 4 games in the Euro 2020 tournament which will be played all over Europe and no 1 host country. 4th is Tottenham Hotspurs new White Hearts Lane stadium and 2nd is the new Olympic stadium in Tokyo.
The video said it's an 800m track so if that is the case then I think it will be for players and probably members of any sports club associated with the stadium.is that track at buda a to spec 400m aths track though? when i saw the vid some weeks ago I just assumed it was for local rec purposes only. firstly not sure if they can keep it at 400m at the top of the stadium, and secondly its s**t for tv
This video explains the Oculus to be built at the new LA Stadium at Hollywood Park. The Oculus - a double sided LED video board is more than 60,000 linear feet of screen, the Oculus is the world’s largest sporting event digital display.
The story linked below gives better renders of what the stadium with translucent roof and the precinct looks like. Now that LA will host the 2028 Olympics it will host the opening and closing ceremonies and soccer. Its the most expensive stadium ever built and it helped LA go from 0 NFL teams to 2 virtually overnight when the stadium was finally approved a couple of years ago.

There is no athletics field. If you are thinking Olympics, its just for opening and closing ceremonies and soccer. Athletics will be held at the LA Coliseum just like 1932 and 1984.do those renders etc look big enough for athletics field? or will it have to be tweaked ?
makes senseThere is no athletics field. If you are thinking Olympics, its just for opening and closing ceremonies and socer. Athletics will be held at the LA Coliseum just like 1932 and 1984.
The Maracana in Rio 17 months ago was the same thing. They had the opening ceremony there as it holds 75k and whilst after its remodeling its still an oval its barely bigger than the rectangle soccer pitch sized oval. Athletics was held at the Estadio Nilton Santos which is Botafogo's home ground it has an athletics track around the soccer pitch. It holds around 48,000 but they cranked it up to 60,000 for the Olympics. Nilton Santos was a 2 time world cup winner with Brazil, their most famous defender who only played for Botafogo and Brazil.makes sense
would that be the first time the athletics is not at the venue of opening and closing ceremonies? don't they also do the final athletics medal presentations at the start of the closing ceremony?
5 new cricket stadiums to be built in India, all have commenced and some will be open soon and the biggest by 2019. First 2 have 25,000 capacity, next 2 have 50,000 capacity and the last one they have knocked down the 50,000 capacity Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad ( a city of 6 million) in the state of Gujarat and will have seating for 110,000 making it the biggest cricket ground in the world and if the thread below is correct will be the equal 3rd biggest stadium behind the one in the North Korean capital Pyongyang, Michigan stadium and Beaver Stadium of Penn State in Pennsylvania is also 110,000. It will cost 7 billion rupees or approx $110m USD

Its been planned to be like the MCG. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sardar_Patel_Stadium
The last 2 or 3 months I've spent a bit of time looking at this amazing stadium. There is an optical illusion that the 8 panels with 500 tons of steel each and translucent panels are moving on an angle but if you look at the GIF and look at the rail on the fixed roof section you see they move in a straight line. The video below with the Atlanta Falcons' President and CEO the gives a great explanation of this illusion as well as some of the outstaning features of the stadium. But at $1.7 USD billion after initial budget of $700m new stadium, it should be. It opened in August 2017 just before the Atlanta Falcons' first home game.Mercedes Benz Stadium, Atlanta Georgia. $1.5 billion (US), 71k capacity for NFL (reconfigurable to 83k for other events and 40k for soccer). The roof design is particularly breathtaking:

LEED platinum certified (an NFL first), the stadium features 4,000 solar panels, colorful LED lighting, and it uses 47% less water and 29% less energy than a typical stadium. It covers more than 2 million square feet, ample room for Blank to stage his comical victory dances. The stadium’s hallmarks—a translucent, eight-petaled ocular retractable roof (which kinetically opens and closes camera lens-style in less than 12 minutes); a nearly six-story-high, 360-degree Halo Video Board that frames the roof opening (the world’s largest LED scoreboard at 63,000 square feet); interior sky bridges; angular winged façade (emulating a falcon’s wing); a 16-story glass Window to the City; and a 110,000-square-foot outdoor fan gathering plaza called “Front Porch.” Hungarian artist Gabor Miklos Szoke’s intricate 66-foot-by-43-foot sculpture of a fierce falcon clutching a football welcomes Atlanta fans who pass under its massive wings. At 73,000 lbs, it’s the world’s largest freestanding bird sculpture—one of the stadium’s 180+ works of art and a symbolic homage to the so-called “Dirty Birds,” who crave revenge and redemption. The immersive stadium (with flexible seating capacity from 43,000 to 83,000) will host the Falcons, Major League Soccer’s Atlanta United FC, Super Bowl 53, the College Football Playoff National Championship, the Peach Bowl, NCAA Final Fours, Georgia Tech football, and major concerts.

Some other features
* The design included a 100-yard bar that would stretch the length of the football field in the upper concourse, along with a fantasy football lounge and premium club seating at field level, behind the teams' benches
*The stadium also incorporated contemporary art into its interior and exterior design, with over 180 specially commissioned works, including pieces by Nari Ward, Hank Willis Thomas, and Steven and William Ladd. The centerpiece of the art collection was to be Gábor Miklós Szőke’s steel sculpture "Rise Up," which the artist claimed would be the largest freestanding bird sculpture in the world. The falcon, perched atop a 13-foot-tall bronze football, is 41 feet high, with a wingspan of 70 feet. The over-73,000-pound artwork, stands in front of the stadium, and as tall as a four-story building
