He is on the list of Every Known Indigenous Player in this year's AFL Record Season Guide so he was left off by mistake in previous editions.
Interesting to note a few changes in this year's AFL Record Season Guide (in terms of past players):-

I'm only relying on memory at the moment, and my memory isn't too reliable these days! I'm very sure he was on a list somewhere, I'm sure it was there at the (now defunct) Aboriginal Football website, it also may have been on the one at the AFL site. His name isn't to be found on the list of indigenous players in any of the AFL Record Season Guides. I think it came out that he wasn't aboriginal so his name was removed from any list(s) he was on.
I'm definitely not sure about the Mauritius connection. I remember seeing a list somewhere of overseas born players, and players whose parents were born overseas. I think it was at the AFLPA website but I can't find it at the moment, so I don't have a source at all.

Of note in this year's list in the Season Guide is the addition of St.Kilda's Graeme Lee (18 games 1961-62), making him the 14th known Aboriginal player.

The tally of Every Known Indigenous Player to have played VFL/AFL now sits at 242. There are 73 indigenous players on AFL lists in 2015, with 53/20 the count as far as have played AFL/yet to debut is concerned.
I'm pleased that Lee's name has finally shown up, as it seemed obvious he belonged on the list. Pretty clearly a mistake was made a year ago with Nankervis, which they have now corrected.

Geelong's wonderful Western Australian full-back Gary Malarkey has recently been named in the Noongar/Nyoongar Team of Champions. I've never seen his name on a list of indigenous players who have played in the VFL/AFL (he's not on the one in AFL Record Season 2017), but it does seem certain that it belongs on such a list:-

As a Melbourne resident I'm always left wondering by the Melbourne media pre occupation with the NT indigenous kids.

This must be something (with Malarkey's family history) that's only come out in recent times. He was a very fine player, no doubt about that.

AFL Record Season (Guide) 2018 includes Gary Malarkey's name on the list of Every Known Indigenous Player, so obviously the AFL became aware of this "development".

Edit: Also, they've added Jarrod Lienert (PA) to Listed Indigenous Players Yet To Play A Game. He was at the club last year but not on that list.
