*Spurs and West Ham have 2 matches this matchday*
Happy New Year! What a blockbuster to start 2018 with. Brighton vs Bournemouth!
Next we have Liverpool who travel to Burnley. Both clubs have 2 days break from their last game so there could be some rotation. Mo Salah will look to improve on his 23 goal figure this season.
Leicester will be hoping to bounce back against Huddersfield after bottling a 1-0 lead to Liverpool.
Stoke then play Newcastle, Mark Hughes surely has to get sacked sooner or later, a loss to a very out of form Newcastle should confirm it.
We then have El Bussico, Everton vs Man United. Mous side looks to be falling apart as of late and it may get tougher for them with Lukaku suffering a head injury in their last game. Everton whilst have been climbing the table as of late, still look toothless in attack and ended up losing to Bournemouth.
Soton and Palace both managed draws against the Manc clubs last match day and both will look to push away from the relegation zone since they are 1-2 points out of it. Palace have CBs Scott Dann and Mama Sakho out injured.
Swansea who managed a 2-1 win over Watford are still dead last. They play Spurs who have a game in hand. Even a draw would see them leapfrog Arsenal. Can Harry Kane further his lead in the golden boot?
West Ham who also have a game in hand play West Brom. Big relegation battle here with 18th vs 19th. Would be massive for the Hammers if they won and went up as high as 13th.
Man Citys record breaking winning streak came to an end against Palace, they even saved a stoppage time penalty to still remain unbeaten but not without casualties. KDB could miss this game after copping a knock, Gabby Jesus is out for 1-2 months. Watford will struggle here after losing to 20th placed Swansea.
Spurs vs West Ham a big game in itself was supposed to take place last year but was delayed into this matchday. I'm sure Spurs fans would love to bury West Ham further into the relegation zone whilst Hammers fans would love to put a dent in Spurs's top 4 hopes.
Match of the round for mine is Arsenal vs Chelsea. Arsenal looked to have been robbed of all 3 points against West Brom while Chelsea cruised to 2nd place by smashing Stoke 5-0. A Chelsea win here would really put Arsenals top 4 hopes on the ropes.
My Picks:
Brighton vs Bournemouth 0-0
Burnley vs Liverpool 1-2
Leicester vs Huddersfield 2-0
Stoke vs Newcastle 1-1
Everton vs Man United 1-1
Soton vs Palace 2-2
Swansea vs Spurs 0-2
West Ham vs West Brom 1-0
Man City vs Watford 2-0
Arsenal vs Chelsea 0-1
Spurs vs West Ham 2-1
