I know they dont want cars, but a tunnel or expansion of the pedestrian way under the Graham Farmer Freeway around to a revamped Belmont carpark when not in use.

Im sure golf buggies etc would be useful for ACROD holders.

However boats have the greatest potential for adding to the Perth Stadium experience; passing restaurants at point Fraser etc on the way to Elizabeth Quay etc.

We need ferries built by artists, not accountants to add to the whole Perth tourist experience.

A private jetty at Crown hotel.

Private charters should be permitted with some boats similar in appearance to say Venician taxis.

That game of tourist adventure is under played right now.

Could you dock the ferry at claisebrook inlet?

Yeah, but no-one's getting a ferry from Barrack Square only to have to walk 20-30 minutes to the stadium.

Funnily enough, the initial pedestrian bridge design was to go to Claisebrook cove, but the residents there cracked the shits. But instead of telling them to go * themselves because they chose to live in the inner city, the government caved.

Government put in a floating jetty by the stadium? Maybe they will let Crown Casino Burswood put in a jetty as well?

K. Underwood said the AFLW match at PS between Freo. v. Coll., in Rd 2, is expected to have a crowd of 50,000+

This would be a magnificent result for female AF, the AFLW (in only its second year!) & the AFL. It would also likely be a world record crowd for a non Olympics/Commonwealth/international Games female sporting event.
My understanding is the current world record crowd for a non Games female sporting event is the 41,000+ that attended Adelaide Oval in 1929 for a Charity female AF match -full contact.
The game was started by a WW1 aviator dropping the ball near the centre of the ground from his gypsy moth biplane (flying low)!

The c.6800 average crowd for the AFLW in 2017 is also probably the highest average crowd for a H & A female sporting comp. in the world.
Super Netball could challenge this -it averaged c.6000 for its inaugural 2017 Finals' series.

EDIT:
The c.6800 AFLW crowd average will increase in 2018 & future years -as skill levels will inevitably increase from year 1 (Average kicking skill levels will increase in 2018)

The Freo. v. Coll. AFLW Rd. 2 PS match will not have any male matches there, AFAIK -but there may be another minor female AF game. Entry will be $2.

There were no SANFL matches on the weekend when the 1929 female AF "one-off" Charity match was played. No other male or female AF games were played on AO in 1929 when the females played.

In 1920 in Britain, St Helen's Ladies v. Kerr's Ladies played a soccer match attracting a crowd of 53,000, still probably a record for a club match.
I am referring to female H & A regular weekly competition matches played over a season (ie not irregular or non-weekly games); which are stand alone.
I do not know if this 1920 soccer match was part of a weekly, seasonal competition; & whether any other elite male or female matches were played on that day in 1920 at that venue.

The WNBA, estab. 1997, had a crowd average of 7716 in 2017.
I do not know if other elite female or male basketball matches are played pre or post WNBA games.

So its a standalone FIXture?

Probably pushing it a little bit.
Tickets go on sale tomorrow so we'll wait and see. At $2 you might find they sell a lot more than actually show up.

What's new in Perth. Cave in to the loud group small group because they'll be affected instead of looking at the big picture.

CROWN Perth is planning to try paid parking in its free, open-air carpark on event days at the neighbouring Optus Stadium.

The move is in anticipation of drivers wanting to park there and walk the short distance to the new venue.

“In order to manage the expected increase in demand for parking on event days, paid parking will be trialled to mitigate the impact — with discounted parking rates available to Crown Rewards members and hotel guests,” a Crown Perth spokeswoman said.

“Crown’s priority will be to ensure easy parking access for Crown members and guests ... we will continue to monitor and review our plans over the coming months.”

The spokeswoman said parking rates were under review but would be finalised and posted to its website ahead of the first sports event at the stadium, the international one-day match between Australia and England on January 28.

Interesting move from Crown. I would have thought people parking there would have enticed them to come to the casino afterwards but on the same token I imagine those who choose to drive to the footy aren't going to be the ones who go out and drink afterwards.

What’s the draw card the AFLW game or the stadium, I’ll put my money on the stadium. The same game if held at Freo Oval would be lucky to bring in between 5-10k.

Is the Uber embargo just on event days? The Camfield pub is supposedly going to operate 365 days a year and would not be happy at all I would have thought? With the train not stopping on event days, how exactly are you supposed to go to this pub if parking is scarce
