Looks like most players are signed and sealed this year , witherden , bundy and Robinson the priority to recommit then walker , Dawson , and lester. Others have to earn one with a good 2018 ?

Thoughts

Dawson is on shaky ground I would have thought.

We'll keep Lester - in leadership group and a good clubman.
Agree,Dawson is fragile, and many have gone past him.Now that Hodge is there,Lester shouldnt be too complacent, needs to do more than be a good clubman,as worthy as that may be.

Not sure how Robinson fits into Fagan's plans going forward. Really hope he has a great year, but I rekon the club might wait and see how he goes early rounds before opening negotiations.

Does Dawson know that?
Actually, he was pretty much resigned to being let go. Was looking forward to going back to local footy with his mates (or at least that would be some consolation).
He’s capable in a number of positions, but doesn’t excel at any (comparative to others on the list). Just needs to find some confidence and apply himself.

Just asking as imagine Dawson reading Billy Pullers comments if he didn't already know Fagan has no use for him in his plans. Would be a pretty shitty thing to read (not that BP cares...)

If a player is silly enough to read this type of site, he probably expects to read comments like this. In reality he would be well aware he is on thin ice with the length of time he has been on the list.

Pretty sure Dawso has a better idea about where he's at (in his own mind and the coaches) than some BigFooty 'expert'. ;)

Bell, Bewick, paps and dawson would all know they need to pull something out of the bag. You only need to look at the contract expiry dates.

Had a chat to Jansen toward the end of last season.really likeable young man - anyway he had played that day and said he'd had a pretty ordinary game. Can't remember the exact conversation but he Seemed well aware with where he was at and the likelihood of leaving. Pretty sure that by the time the club is ready to let them go they know exactly where they stand.

All a part of Chris Fagan's open door, yet broken hearted policy.:brokenheart:

I think Dawson just needs time and I hope Beams/Hodge may bring some composure his way. He has been back.....forward.... back.....back which u need to do theses days so fingers crossed coz he is a good sized lad a local lions dude.

It's no different to any annual performance review in a workplace. If a manager is doing their job well and communicating regularly throughout the year, then nothing a staff member hears in that meeting should come as a surprise.

He needs to change his attitude and realise this is his only shot.
